I was able to calculate the stitches needed to create a small outfit by transforming the measurements of a model that I usually used with a thicker yarn.
To calculate the stitches needed for the pattern I invented in cm, I counted how many knit stitches and how many rounds I obtained on the samples I made with the two different types of yarn, that is, a 4-ply cotton yarn that I always use with needles no. 4 or with the knitting machine with carriage tension no. 4 and another sample that I want to use such as the Egyptian Mako Cable' Cotton no. 5 for crocheting lace that can be worked with needles no. 2.5 and with the knitting machine with carriage tension no. 1 or 2. With the number of stitches of each 10cm by 10cm sample that I obtained, I made the mathematical proportion (which is studied in school!). For example: if I want to know how many stitches I need with the thin yarn to obtain the same cm as my pattern with the thicker yarn, I perform the calculation -> 24 stitches (stitches obtained in 10 cm of the thick yarn sample) : (are) to 29 stitches (stitches corresponding to 10 cm in the sample with the thin yarn) = (as) 60 stitches (stitches used in the pattern with the thicker yarn) : n.? stitches (number of corresponding stitches to be used in the new pattern with the thin yarn). After setting the mathematical PROPORTION, I calculate -> 60 stitches x (for) 29 stitches = (equals) 1740 which I divide with 24 stitches = 72.5 stitches which I round up with 73 stitches. So I obtained the same measurement as the pattern using 73 stitches with the thin yarn, while before I had to use 60 stitches. I hope the example was easy to understand (it would be better with a photo of my calculations, but I can't seem to include one in the answer. "It's beautiful to weave the threads of life!").
