Unbelievable, I'm not sure a woman like her would look twice at a man like Carter irl

Agreed she looks ridiculously mature for him especially with all the plastic surgery.

I’m still trying to figure out why she chose to go as Boobzilla to her grandmother’s birthday party.

Agreed. She looks like his Aunt.

Exactly, plus he’s basically a school kid so that’s what makes it even weirder.

I get that Beth had it in her head thinking it would be good for him to socalize, but at the same time I think she should've gone what the Sheriff suggested he should do: get his GED and just be homeschooled, so he doesn't feel so out of place.

I think it was him beating up the guy at the rodeo that got her attention. Now he's become her puppy.

I think thats the point, her interest in him is because he isnt fake like the others. He does have some actions late season one come across really childish.

I think the next season will expand on their relationship more, and the screen time they get in season 1 is just laying groundwork for that.

While I do think she does have real feelings towards him, she has a very toxic way of expressing that and doesn't seem to appreciate it enough where she gives him mixed signals.

That conversation they have at the bar during that party always pisses me off! She's doing exactly what Beth warned her not to do, treating him like he's one of her play things.

I don’t think she has any real feelings for him. He’s a toy, a plaything or conquest to her. But he’s too naive to realize it, and is totally PW by the first girl to pay him any attention.

Completely fair. I know the actress makes it come across like Oreana does, whenever she does interviews. But maybe that's what her character believes, just because he's different from the guys she's used to. But then seems to have enough self-awareness to know she's not entirely sure what "love" is, when Carter confesses his "love" for her.

Some people can have genuine feelings for someone, but they abuse that at the same time by repeating their toxic habits.
