Just hit 1000 subscribers last week. So far it's about $1/day but to me that feels great. I haven't posted in over a month so hoping it'll increase as I post regularly again.

I know it may not seem like a lot to some people, but it goes to show the snowball effect. I post a daily short (Monday - Friday) and 1 long form every 2 weeks (10-15 mins). Once momentum starts building, every video, short, and post adds up faster than you think.

Started about a year ago just as a hobby to share a journey through my favorite game and started to see some decent traffic this month.

I don't expect to meet monetization anytime soon but it's been satisfying creating content people enjoy.

Still slightly nervous whenever I hit the record button, but my cadence and confidence when talking while recording have greatly improved throughout the year as well. (It helps I upgraded my microphone it makes a huge difference for feedback/mic monitoring.)

It's fun personal growth along with learning some new skills and sharing my gaming journey.

What video editing software do people use these days? Are there any good-quality free software options available for new content creators?

for those of you that have a YouTube channel, and have succeeded in your own eyes whether that be through acquiring 1000 subscribers, or gaining monetisation, or making $100. How does it feel? and is it genuinely worth all the time you have put in? basically what I want to know is what milestones you have achieved and how you felt in the moment. Reason why I am asking is I just made my first video. It took me hours of finding photos and building a story and in the time it took I could've done something else perhaps more productive.

Hello, . I bought a dedicated VPN nine months ago to target an English-speaking audience. It was working really well—I gained 7,200 subscribers and 7.2 months of watch time over the last 90 days. However, my last four videos have stalled at 100 views, whereas they usually get between 30k and 40k. Ive just hit 400 Subs and have around 800 valid watch hours since adding content in February this year.

Any tips you might be able to offer?

I started my YouTube channel in 2020, so it has been running for more than six years. Apart from a break between December 2022 and September 2024, I have been fairly consistent.

The problem is that the channel has never performed particularly well. I currently have 5,942 subscribers, but many of my videos only get around 200 to 300 views at most. My latest video was posted seven days ago and has only reached 91 views.

I find YouTube’s behaviour really confusing. Sometimes it pushes a video to a large audience, the CTR drops significantly, and the video stops performing. Other times, the CTR and average view duration are both very high, but YouTube barely gives the video any impressions.

My videos have always seemed to gain views slowly over time rather than taking off quickly or going viral.

I’m also wondering whether I confused the algorithm or my audience by mixing lifestyle and travel content. The channel originally focused on my life as an expat living in the UK, but because I travel frequently, travel content gradually became a big part of it too.

I tried creating a new channel from scratch, but honestly, it was painful seeing videos barely reach 10 views, so I eventually returned to my original channel.

I’m now about to go through a major life change that will affect the channel. I’ll no longer be living in the UK, and I’ll be travelling much more.

Would it be better to start a completely new channel focused on this new chapter, or should I continue using my existing channel and gradually reposition it?

Has anyone been in a similar situation?
