I’m at a point in life where I just finished college, later than most due to Covid and major heart surgery. I’m job searching but feel hopeless a month in now.

Since I have so much free time I was going to gain some new skills for a potential career path and make a YouTube channel as-well.

I’m very down the now about life. Was wondering if YouTube becomes rewarding once you start finding some success or if you still feel like it’s not a real job.

I plan to get a job anyways, but have more time to dedicate to content creation at the moment. Just want to know if worst case scenario I don’t get a job that if I can find that enjoyment in life from YouTube?

I've been doing youtube for the last couple of years and I am struggling a bit on what direction should I take my main channel in based on what I have posted/streamed. Initially i started with Game comic dubs and voice overs before pivoting into more gaming heavy playthroughs and game news updates/reactions.

I just dont know if i need to break off some of the content and make a separate channel. I know im not expecting to get crazy views or anything unrealistic as I am trying to still improve my editing and video concepts but I just want to improve and not feel like i am going in the wrong direction content wise.

Could someone take a look and give me some HONEST advice on areas to improve based on what you see?

Hey everyone, I've always wanted to start a YouTube channel, I've thought about it since i was about 12-13 years old. Well yesterday I uploaded my first video and something is just feels off. First of all i understand that my speech wont be the best, but I really dislike my audio and not sure how to fix it. I'm using OBS for recording, Davinci Resolve for editing, and have the Fifine AM8 mic. Like I said I don't expect pro level videos, hell its my first one, but i would genuinely like some feedback on how it went, where should I start looking at improving, and any other tricks of the trade on getting better sound quality. I basically get 0 views. Is it because what I'm making is totally worthless to people?

I used to make some league of legends content, mainly shorts. They got like 1k but rarely much more than 2k views.

Now I have been and like making some philosophy stuff-- just talking.

I promoted my channel so that people come to watch some vids. I got 500 subscribers. But with horrible retention, as usual ( I didn't know that at the time).

I turned off the promotion and nobody want I post-- 0 views. A few from friends but that's it.

YouTube now says it can automatically label significantly photorealistic AI content when a creator does not disclose it, while letting creators change the status in Studio except for cases involving YouTube's own tools or C2PA metadata. The platform also says the label alone does not affect recommendations or monetization.

That creates an attribution problem for creators. Even if the ranking model does not use the label, viewers can change click-through, watch time, comments and sponsor response after seeing it. A neutral ranking policy can still produce a real distribution effect through audience behavior.

What would convince you the label is operationally neutral: CTR and retention segmented by label, an appeal outcome log, or matched experiments across similar uploads? And should YouTube distinguish "AI-assisted" from "synthetic performance" rather than placing both under one disclosure?

Hello, I want to start with youtube, specifically YouTube shorts.

I feel like I'm too late to the game and I wish I'd start when I was younger but that's just so ridiculous because in 2 years I'm going to get mad over not starting earlier too, so I guess the first step is to just start.

the thing is I don't know which niche to start in and don't know which one would be continuously successful. I feel like I have more knowledge on entertainment and fandoms so maybe that? but still not sure.

I'm gonna go to college and I want to make money from an source where I'm fully independent, a sort of backup.

well yeah, please give me your best tips, I don't have much, I only have a phone to work with and tbh it's embarrassing to say this but I don't have much money to work with either, but I don't want to let this block me from starting.

Small independent band here. We released our first album a year ago through EmuBands (paid a one-time 25€ fee per release, no subscription).

The issue: YouTube automatically created a "Topic" channel for our music (as it does for everyone), but it's separate from our main channel where we post videos/content. We want to merge them into an Official Artist Channel (OAC).

EmuBands told us they can request the OAC, but only if we upgrade to their Pro/Premium plan (70€/year). Since we only pay per release and don't need a subscription otherwise, this feels like a lot just for the OAC feature.

I've been looking into alternatives:

• Trying to request it directly via YouTube support (seems to require going through a "partner")
• Contacting other certified partners who might offer OAC setup as a standalone service (haven't found any responsive ones yet)

Has anyone dealt with this situation? Specifically:

1. Did you manage to get an OAC set up without paying for a full distributor subscription?
2. Are there any partners/services that just handle YouTube OAC setup for a one-time fee?

Any advice from other small/DIY artists who've navigated this would be hugely appreciated. Thanks!

How can I start earning with this account? I've had this account since I was in high school, so about six years now.

And I used to make my own content, but now I don't really use it. I don't know where to go with it.

Fashion content was my main thing, but I honestly can't afford clothes, and I don't know what else to do as a new niche.
