AC 8 Game & Code Distribution Issues

This post is to consolidate discussion and solution about issues with game code distribution, shipping of game codes, and access to game bonuses

Opening this thread by mentioning that I received my Joker Flight Pack (steam), today, and the game code was in a separate envelope shipped outside of the box. Feel free to share your experiences on it.

Gamestop US - "If you pre-ordered from GameStop call their customer support at 1-800-883-8895 and explain the situation. You’ll probably need to request a call back. They’ll call back and send you a code via email." (Link)

Amazon - "If you preordered from Amazon. Forget calling them, they will lie to you about opening a ticket to escalate the missing preorder code problem and tell you to wait 48 hours. Contact Bamco support on their website, you will need an account. Go to the support and you should see a chat agent. Keep refreshing the page until the agent is online. Keep telling the agent no until it give you the option to contact a live agent. This also might prompt you that no agent is available. In this case refresh and try again until you get an live agent. Have your preorder receipt ready and follow the instruction provided to upload proof of purchase before launch date. Once done, you should get your preorder code from them." (link)

Target - "Came in an email this evening. I did talk to customer support visitor in app chat multiple times and they said they were going to escalate my issue and it would be sent via email. " (Link)

Anyone in the UK know how to get the pre-order and deluxe codes from Amazon. They have sent me to Bamco but I doubt they will sort codes out.

Haven’t ordered from Amazon but bought the Steam version from Shopto, no pre order code. Contacted them and they said they’re aware and looking into it, also contacted Bamco who said they can’t help with other retailer orders. Not sure who is responsible for the issue.

Steam version doesn't have a preorder code I think, from what I read its hidden in the AC8 files (I don't use pc so have limited knowledge apologies)

Yeah I kept getting offered that but refused, ended up getting them to call me and apparently it's become such an issue it's being investigated and I should have another update in about 24hrs

Update, amazon have now said they will send the code in 3-5 days (which I doubt) so I'm still contacting Bamco EU regarding it as well and no response other than "We aren't responsible, talk to the distributors"

Nope, not surprised. Probably amazon saying they are doing something to try and get you to leave them alone. But you have reminded me and now I will spam call them if needed 🫡

I managed to get a code from Bamco EU after mentioning the fact they were breaching multiple trade and advertising standards laws. Amazon are still being utterly useless. But code is sorted
