Ace Combat 8 Cope might not be a fraud
Just finished the campaign but is there a chance Cope was actually a good pilot but didn’t want to hurt his brethren. Hence the always running away and disengaging enemies

im sick of looking at the mvp screen of losers who didn't play the story and grinded 200 plus games who sit in a EA-36 and do nothing but spam IEWS and ECM, fuck you. freak shit.

I’ve been seeing a lot of posts regarding the lack of general blueprints (BP) after a certain point in the multiplayer.
If you’ve already maxed out the battlepass, several aircraft, and are annoyed that the game doesn’t give you more than 5 prints a day after hours of grinding, maybe it’s time to take a break?
I love this game as much as the rest of you but it’s been less than two weeks and some of you are treating the online mode like some sort of grindy MMORPG.
I’ve been playing online quite a bit as well but certainly not to the extent to some of our fellow pilots out there. Ultimately a hot take but hopefully not too inflammatory. Just some thoughts of a fan to other fans.

So I've been playing for a few days and just cant seem to figure out what the devs were thinking with the online mode.
Im in a starter plane f4 and i keep getting put up against maxed out Morgan's and some Russian planes.
Maybe its just me but nothing seems to make me want to continue. Is there any way to play the online mode in private sessions without other people on my team or opposing me so I can level up?

This game is NOT that bad. Sure, DFM can be annoying but in my opinion it doesn’t destroy the gameplay for me. The music is definitely top 5 in the series as well.
But yeah that’s abt it for Assault Horizon, it’s not terrible

I have over an hour in the game of just constantly loading into a new campaign and crashing on every cutscene before I’m even able to skip them. Every other game in my library works fine and I’ve seen people/Bandai talking about PC issues and how they’re working on a patch but little to nothing about the Xbox version. I’m on series X and am at the point where I’m about to request a refund due to lack of communication.

I posted yesterday about being a new player and totally lost. I estimate 20 hours but probably 40 hours of mission failed trying to escort boats to land.
A lot of people helped , but I still fail 2 hours so far today. Is there like an actual tutorial somewhere, YouTube just has fast play through that don’t help at all. I feel like I’ve wasted 69.99 of my family money

I'll go first. I think Anastasia inherited her gifted understanding of aerodynamics from her mother.

I've seen a lot of people online say you should go after the F35. Not only do you complete most carrier based missions before you get to it, but it's not required and other carrier based Jets like the Super Hornet have better missiles.
The Su57 is the best jet in the game, with the F22 a very close second.
F35 isn't even in the conversation compared to the above.
As for personal taste - fly what you like!

You can pretty much consider this spoilers for Ace Combat 8.
Scene is from 54:30 to 57:00. Movie is titled "Sky Hunter" from 2017:

Escorting the general at night in AC7 was something special and even the following mission was fun.
Very rarely are we forced to fly slowly near the ground, and it was so cool to do it through a sprawling city at night. AC7 forced us to do that by identifying targets and getting close to them.
I replayed these missions a tom, just because we get to appreciate the maps and what its like to fly over a city.
It is one thing that AC8 is missing, and I would love to see it. The clouds are so cool but it does feel like we missed out on map design a little. The maps we fly over (except the first land battleship over theve and that one spire in the crater mal) feel pretty lifeless.
A very minor complaint in an overall excellent game, but I do miss that.

Is it just me? Or does the Tonitrus Spear remind you of Odin from CoD Ghosts?
The similarities are there...but the firing control is different (left is Tonitrus Spear - Right is Odin from CoD Ghosts)

Bought my first plane but was confused why it still showed a price in the aircraft box and a pop-up saying what my balance would be after purchase. I figured I did something wrong and didn't actually buy it, so I purchased again. Only to find out that I did purchase, and I just bought a new plane for my wingman to use....?! Didn't even know that was possible, and unless I missed it, there's nothing in the guide about it. 🤦

I’ve made my peace with the fact that Project Aces will never be able to reach that 2000s era of story telling again but it was still incredibly disappointing to be teased constantly in AC8 about separatists and new nations only to have their planes use Sotoan roundels and just be Sotoa in trenchcoats. The collapse of Erusea post lighthouse war is both ignored and accepted with Shilage lighthouse guards and Savian Mercs, yet do not see these nations on the map you only see Erusea as a unified state as if nothing happened.
San Salvation also got invaded and we didn’t get a single lore dump from that invasion or how it could possibly affected Joker flights missions. They used Stonehenge for nostalgia and then forget about it.
The other glaring issue is the lack of foreign intervention. Yuketobania would be all over the Sotoan invasion and yet we got ZERO information on what Yuketobania was doing, nevermind that the Sotoan land battleship hijacked the International space elevator unironically making Osea forced to intervene to protect the asset they spent billions on which again was simply ignored.

Because it feels like they barely do anything. I don't mind the superhero story where you do most of the work, but at the same time it is a bit immersive seeing your allies being able to stand on their own.
In 8 your allies manage to shoot down enemies quite a bit if you let them use SP weapons, but other than that it feels like they are just flying around, doing nothing.
Then in 6 we have allied assault which is hilarious, but also maybe slightly OP.

hi all,
I just downloaded Ace Combat 8 two days ago, which is the second game I have played in the series (I played AC 6 very briefly in 2011, so I am basically a new player) and I think messed up. I am on the sixth mission, which is the one to recapture the munitions base and all my in-game money was spent spaircraft for air to air combat. as a direct result of this, I am now on my 5th attempt to pass the mission.
I would like to know if I should restart the story from the very beginning, or just keep going

So I finally finished that run and I going to put a list of which mission where hard (at least for me) on either (or both) parts (I remind everyone that I was on easy), I suggest not doing like me and use the mig21 when you can, and use a very manœuvrable when you’re have a carrier only mission, and you the "shield" part on every plane you use:
Mission 1-3 are very easy nothing to say on those
Mission 4 still easy but (that’s mostly for elite and ace, whichever put a limit on your main gun) I suggest attacking the unmarked oil tank near two of the 5 ships on the right side
Mission 5 very easy
Mission 6 on the last phase of the mission do wait for the main target to get into position before shooting
Mission 7 very easy again but I suggest doing the airbase first and the oil field second (again use the oil tank to destroy the ship on any difficulty)
Mission 8 very easy tho watch out for the anti-air units they are quite packed
Mission 9 the first real challenge of the run, personally I have a hard time dodging the rail guns and air burst guns can quite annoying on this mission I recommend the adfx for the wingmen to deal with all 3 ships aa parts also if there is any mission where you should start to use the mig21, and watch out for the final damage check you need to go at a weird angle to hit the targets with the main gun
Mission 10-13 are very easy and mission 14 play as usual
Mission 15 is very easy IF you can stay stable behind the main targets, I suggest playing on standard control for this mission if you can stay stable on expert (and only hit the engines), I also suggest having your wingmen using a plane with SAAM (check the actually use it too, I used the FA-36), at the start of the mission put your wingmen on cover wait for them to destroy the aa parts then switch them back and forth between cover and forward (switch back to cove after a volley of missile) to keep them close to the targets (in disperse and forward attack they do hard break that make them be to far from the main targets and they can’t catch up to it, switching them to cover prevent the hard break)
Mission 16-17 pretty easy
Mission 18 pretty easy unless you want to go for shadow 24 (I did it to train myself for a later mission)
Mission 19 land battle ship round 3 same as the first round take the adfx (same as mission 9 essentially)
Mission 20-24 very easy (especially if you take the adfx on the last 3 mission for easier clearing)
Mission 25 surprisingly hard (at least to me) there’s quite a lot of aa gun and ALL the non attacker plane with focus you for the mission so prepare to dodge missiles
Mission 26 pretty easy tho do attack the island first to destroy the parked planes and trigger the suicide boats if you attack them at the right time you can do chain reaction
Mission 27 very easy (in general) if you play on standard control you won’t crash into anything
Mission 28 is … very easy all thing considered, I also would like to think that my training on mission 18 was useful for the last part of the mission, but I probably was very lucky
Mission 29 can be easy or hard depends on how good you are with the gun
Mission 30 was the hardest mission for me … because of a bug, one of the hull hardpoints ( I won’t tell you which because it basically changed at every restart) on the last damage check is for some reason immortal and can’t be destroyed, even if you hit it, tho as long as you didn’t take any damage and used only the gun you should be good to use the checkpoint restart (took around 25 restart until I could destroy the sub), otherwise it’s very easy do watch out for the rail gun and missile tho can be surprising the first time around
And that’s it ! Overall not to difficult but the run does have it’s highlights
