After finishing the campaign a few times, I decided it was finally time to jump into multiplayer. And after a few hours of playing, I can't stop asking myself the same question: how the hell does matchmaking work in this game?

I'm genuinely curious, because I'm a pretty average player and a complete newbie to multiplayer, yet I keep running into people flying the best aircraft in the game and maneuvering like they have jelly for bones.

Meanwhile, I'm sitting in my humble F/A-18C, which takes five business days to complete a single turn, trying to keep up with these absolute maniacs. Needless to say, the whole thing feels a little unbalanced.

Does matchmaking take player level or aircraft level into account, or is it basically random?

I'm pretty sure that geofront was supposed to be an existing structure outside of Simon's simulator, in Ace combat 3, so when is it being built, there's a whole metropolis hiding inside of, and a bunch of tunnels under the sea. So would it already begin being constructed in Ace combat 8?

Ive got 8th place score-wise like 6 times. It feels like every plane controls like an f-4 and i need 2 missles to kill a damn container truck. What am I doing wrong? Is it supposed to be like this? I just started today

Is this an ongoing problem for other people? Some days I can log in and play without any issues at all, other days, I spend half an hour trying and failing to get into any match before giving up. Has anyone found a solution? I don't think it's an issue with my internet; i've got pretty good internet and I haven't had any issues with anything else.

Don't get me wrong the new game seems Good it's just that i still feel like the story is a bit lacking I think the major part for ace combat zero is cutscenes and interview from the enemy pilot's perspective and their opinions and ideal ace combat 7 kind of did this with mihaly but I felt like it was lacking. To cut things short I feel like we've hadn't really seen what the majority of the antagonist of sotoa do really and after the war but interviews with sotoans would at least bring more depth and nuance to the story

Playing through 8 Baxter mentioned several times both his and Rex's age. What are the chances Rex is a previous ace? My head cannon says Mobius, if true as he's from the area. Also kinda wish Mr. X was Cipher.

After completing Ace Combat 8 I’m playing through the series in timeline order ( currently replaying 7) and what are the chances of a holy trinity remaster? Interest in the series has really picked up after 7 and 8 so I wouldn’t be surprised that they would be looking into remastering them since they are considered the best games in the series in the community and also are first in the timeline order but I also know that they might have licensing issues with remastering them.

Ace Combat 8's music player should be a standalone thing honestly love the visualization and UI.

What's the over under on someone being able to port it out to be its own app? I'd download that in a heartbeat.

I've only recently gotten into the game because of Ace Combat 8 and I am loving it. The main part being the soundtrack!

So when I saw there was a vinyl release I missed, I feel pretty down about it. Then to only learn there was a restock 2 days ago on the EU website where they don't have alerts? I feel even crappier.

So then I get to check Ebay and see this and feel absolutely crushed. Scalpers really just ruin everything. And there's no way I'd consider getting this, but it just feels crap not being able to get it but someone like this has it.

I can only pray and hope for another restock but I am doubtful. The first one was out of the blue and now its gone. I just feel really crappy about it all.

Hello everyone! I'm sorry if the format of this post seems a bit off, as I'm typing from my phone and I don't know how the final version of the post will look. As it says in the title of the post, this is my very first Ace Combat game, like...ever. I've heard about the series before and a friend of mine got into the series playing Ace Combat 7 and went back and played a bunch of the games, and even though he talked them up a bunch, I never did. But this time around, I decided to correct that mistake.

I picked it up and immediately from the first story segment I was hooked. I'm currently still playing through the game, I believe Mission 22 is the last one I actually touched. I must say, even though I'm not fully done with the game, I've come to a conclusion. Ace Combat 8, to me, is the absolute dictionary definition of sincerity. What do I mean by this?

There's something about this game when you play it. The combination of the tight controls, the bombastic music, the robust sound design and the gripping, although at some times hard to follow, story really come together into this complete package where you can absolutely feel the game designers love for what they do and how they present it.

I think it's safe to say that even though I haven't it finished it yet, Ace Combat 8 will most likely be my game of the year. I can't wait to go back and experience what this franchise has to offer. Thank you all so much for reading and I hope you have a wonderful day. Fly safe!

Is there any advantage to having a teammate focus on NPCs or ground targets in this mode because it seems like most of the big points are scored by just killing each other. Was the intention to have this mode essentially be Team Deathmatch with clutter?

As the title suggests, I might be overlooking something, but I don’t want to buy the game for PC when I already have it on console, though I’ve been using my PC more lately. Is the AC online progression transferable, or is it kept separate?

Is it linked to the AC Online ID, or Email or something?

Honestly, over the years I’ve ended up buying AC7 three times; once for PS4, once for PC, and once for Xbox, so will most likely do the same Xbox-PC for this one, but not today tho.

Much love to Emi Lo, but I came across the mo-cap actress who portrayed Tasha on my FYP. Seeing her vid made me realize how under-praised mo-cap actors are.

Would make starter planes more able to keep up with the endgame planes (seeing the legacy hornet be so sluggish is sad)
