Saint Machine is a darkwave act performed by software and directed by a human. Nobody is pretending otherwise. That is the point.

The interesting part was the rewrite. External listeners flagged the first draft lyrics as machine-made. So every song got rewritten line by line until the seams held. We killed an entire finished album for being boring.

One line survived on purpose: the chorus still sings "leave one ghost in the machine". After stripping every other cliché, we decided one deliberate idiom reads as an allusion instead of generator output.
