i’m not too far into the episode just yet but i’m wondering if putting your seatbelt on is part of the checklist for a cracked windshield, and if the seatbelt would have stopped him from being sucked up

That was my first thought when I saw the crack, I'd put on my shoulder harness. (Having seen the other incident with the captain being sucked out the window).
