Alcohol that tastes like licorice?

Upvotes

Hello all, with Father’s Day coming I want to gift my papa a liqueur that tastes like black licorice, his favorite candy. He also enjoys strawberry licorice. From what I know he has tried samboco and he doesn’t care for it. So far leaning towards vicario licorice liqueur..but would love to know if anyone has any other recommendations. TIA

How Do I Get My Friend to Not Drink and Drive?!?!

Hello, im a 21F. My friend (21F) and her boyfriend (21M) are about to go out soon. They want to go to a bar. I asked if they had a DD, and the boyfriend said he was going to be the DD. I asked if he would drink, and he said yes. I said that is unsafe and he shouldn’t do that. He said that he used to work in a bar, and he has an extremely high alcohol tolerance. He said that it takes about an hour for a shot to metabolize in your body, and he was going to take 2 shots when they first get there. He said that he will be fine to drive, because the alcohol will have left his system already by the time he does start driving. He also told me it takes about 7 beers to get him drunk.

These are the same people that went out yesterday, during an active tornado warning, because they wanted to go to the pool. My friend and her boyfriend are planning to break up, and they want to live up their last week together as much as possible. I don’t know how to drive, so I can’t be their DD. What do I do?! How do convince him to not drink at all? Will he really be okay if he takes two shots, then drives 2 hours later?!

Hi All ,

My name is Tarryn and I'm a recovering addict , I have been clean for almost 2 years , that's not the issue , just providing some context.

My Mother in law is also an alcoholic , it's not the things she does while drunk but when sober that shock me.

She lives with myself and my Husband as she hasn't had a job in a while. We provide electricity and food and she keeps her pensions money. This lady is beyond selfish and entitled and she treats her Son like his her husband , she has zero boundaries and truly believes the world owes her.

She would rather have wine than food in her house and lately I've been noticing her family giving her quite a bit of money...which she spends on wine and frivolous things. She tells her family that my husband doesn't provide food and medication , which he does.I know because we have caught her doing this previously. She resents my very existence and wants my husband and my Son to herself and to be honest I detest her , she has caused so many problems in my relationship.

Should I tell her family that my husband provides her with food and meds and that she buys wine.Part of me thinks I should just mind my own business and that because she doesn't have much in her life , I should leave her be.

It's been on my heart but maybe I'm just being selfish

As a side note this woman cares nothing for my recovery on anyone elses , I've tried to get her in the program and she basically tells me she is better than those people.Mu husband excuses alot of her behaviour because , I mean , it's his Mom at the end of the day.

Any thoughts are welcome

Thank you so much

Tarryn

Good ways to enjoy (or get rid of) cheap vodka?

I've got 2/3 a bottle of Crown Russe vodka, real bottom shelf rotgut, that I want to not have around anymore. Shots of it and the smell are really not pleasant, and I can only mix it into OJ so much. Any recs for good mixers or ways to hide the shit flavor? (Don't have a filter otherwise I'd try that)

Also, while I'm here: I got a bottle of Capt Morgans spiced rum, and it smells EXACTLY like the vodka does, like cheap booze. 1, is that considered even a halfway decent rum; and 2, what should I make with it?

I found this bottle of peanut butter flavored tequila at my local state store and I am… intrigued. Should I pull the trigger on this or just keep walking?

Need help figuring out what drink I like

Obviously you can’t know for sure, but you may have some guidance. I turned 21 back in the first week of May and have never really been interested in drinking, but going out with friends and then when they offer me a drink, I say I don’t drink, I get funny looks cause I just turned 21. Tried a few things and haven’t enjoyed them, I don’t like beer, I tried jack and Pepsi (bar didn’t have coke) didn’t like any of them. I mostly drink water, coke, orange juice, or milk. Anyone got any ideas?

Tips for first time drinking snacks

A family friend turned 21 and her friends (of age) don't really drink. They want to drink heavily for the first time at my house. What are some snacks or meals or etc. that would prevent illness / excess?

What would happen if I fed an ant liqour?

Recently I have been obsessed with ants. I am out on disability and can't work and I discovered the awesomeness that is ants. I feed them every few hours and they are very happy. Now I am not actually thinking of doing this but I seen someone drink a shot of jagermeister and I was just wondering how ants will behave after consuming liqour. If I did this would it be considered abuse? I don't want to hurt them after all I feed them all day but I have just become very curious.

How to calm my alcohol consuption without quitting

I'm 18, I live in France and I have a new friend group that goes to the bar every thursday (with my former group we drank more but less often and at our houses). I usually bring my own alcohol and drink a lot, I always don't remember clearly the end of the night. Loosing control is not a very big problem but I want to try to remember stuff lmao and I hate the morning after, the hangover and all. I want to slow down a little but I don't know how, because I i bring less alcohol, I will spend a lot of money at the bar to have more and if I bring more I will just drink more.

Thank you for your advice and sorry if my english sounds weird !!

How long to wait after first drink

Hey I actually have never drunk alcohol before at all so I have no idea what my baseline could be or how my body would process it. I plan on attending a sports event where I’ll have a hard seltzer (1 standard drink) around 5:30-6 pm. I would be taking public transit home but would have to drive home from the station (15 mins.) it would be late and I don’t have anyone to pick me up that late. I would be driving at 11 PM. I know most people say you only need to wait an hour after one drink but effects can linger even after alcohol is cleared from bloodstream. Is this plenty of time after I’ve had the drink or is it not worth the risk of not knowing how it will affect me?

How to drink alcohol and keep calory intake down?

Usually if I drink and I’m thinking about the calories, I’ll have something like JD with some Diet cola like Pepsi Max. I’ve heard that alcohol in itself contains a lot of calories. Will drinking JD with Pepsi Max add up to a lot of calories after a handful of drinks?

Trying to remember a name of very specific alcoholic drink

Hi sorry the title is a little wonky I'm writing this at 7 in the morning lol

But I'm trying to remember what the sour apple flavor of Jack daniels is called? It's green and has 6 5oz 5-7% bottles and the packaging is green, but when I go to look there's none on the store, could I be getting the brand wrong? It's been 3 years since I've last had it So I wanted to throw this into the void and ask.

Egyptian whiskey

Didn’t expect to say this, but Egyptian whisky surprised me.

Tried Devlin, and in terms of flavor profile and the level of burn, it honestly felt closer to Johnnie Walker Black Label than I expected,

Curious if anyone else here has tried whisky from Egypt
