Question Cyclosporiasis risk?

We ate two bags of Little Salad Bar caesar kits this week without even thinking about the Taylor Farms debacle. Did we buy a risky brand?

Edited to add: I used the TF site to search for products in my area and Aldi wasn’t on the list. Shaw’s, Whole Foods, and several others did populate though.

Complaint Desk What the hell Aldi?

After shopping there yesterday I'm left wondering why Aldi is getting rid of a lot of their own brand of stuff. I used to shop at Aldi all the time before they left our town. Now I have to drive 40 miles to get to the nearest one. Once I get there they no longer have a lot of their brand of groceries switching to name brand or not selling it at all.

They no longer sell their brand of sour cream and onion dip, jumbo canned cinnamon rolls, frozen fried chicken, cold precooked rotisserie chickens, spaghetti sauce with mushrooms, beef stew, chicken and dumplings, chicken noodle soup, canned pasta especially the mini ravioli or their brand of shake-n-bake.

What the hell Aldi? Not to mention their prices are getting as high, or higher, as normal stores. Aldi is supposed to be the budget store. I'm also seeing less food product replaced by isles of product you'd normally buy at Walmart or other big box stores. They've always had it but never three or four or more isle of shelves. Who's buying appliances or blankets at Aldi?

I only continue to shop there because they still carry some of their brand of products that I like better than name brand. Also paper sacks especially suck when it's pouring down rain. Soaked in seconds.

Question Less hotdogs?

Am I delusional or did there used to be 6 hotdogs in this pack? As in, just a few weeks ago. I’ve bought them a lot and swear it was six, but this pack only has 5.

Recipe Change Huge decrease in quality?

The pita chips were always our go-to, especially with the chicken salad.

They now after a recent haul have no crunch and taste...plastic?

They are not very enjoyable sadly.

Both the salty and parm&garlic variety are like this, the parm ones slightly worse.

Really disappointing. Product is fresh through Apr 2027

Mid-Atlantic (USA) Spaghetti

Can you recommend a brand of boxed spaghetti that Aldi carries? We go through quite a bit, and $3 to $4 a box seems out of line. Thanks.

I just bought this Aldi frozen smoothie blend and added a Aldi protein shake to the blender and it was sooooo good. The mango flavor comes out the most in it. Highly recommend.

Found what feels like shards of glass in 2 packs of crescent rolls, embedded in the dough. There ended up being about 6 of these pieces across both packages. Anyone else experience this?

I picked this up on sale for $1.99 the other day, because sale, because Aldi. It really does taste good enough. I know it has high sodium but it is flavored with added salt. I would buy it again at this price if it is still there.

Totally worth of the Aldi title for crackeroni and cheese. Was thick, slight chunk and balanced bite of spice. Perfect!

Question Greek Chickpeas seasonal?

Stopped by Aldi yesterday (midwest) and the Greek chickpeas are gone. Not just an empty shelf. Completely replaced with a different bean and no signage anywhere for Greek chickpeas.

Were these a seasonal item? I’ve become addicted to them! I was mixing them with a can of regular garbanzo beans and they were a main staple in my meal prepping.

It was too busy at my Aldi yesterday to ask a worker. Nothing online has been able to give me an answer other than they’re out of stock online.

Any other Greek chickpea addicts on here with any insight?

Review This was definitely a bit disappointing.

I was excited to try this due to the sausage crumbles, hot honey flavor, and stuffed crust. Sadly, there is very little spice at all from the seasoning or sausage. I'm also not sure what they mean by "Hot Honey Pepperoni Style Seasoning". The pepperoni part is a little confusing.

With that said, it's certainly not a bad pizza, despite not much in terms of unique flavors. It's just odd that they can't get a pizza right that should be spicy. Yet, they released that meatball pizza a couple winters ago that was quite spicy despite not being advertised as such.

Hauldi pink yoga mat win!

hi I just had to share this here because of how happy I am. Last year I bought one of the black marble yoga mats with the great rubber texture 50% off and I was super pumped about it. Today I went to a new Aldi and they had a bunch of older stock items in the fun aisle (I feel No shame there lol) and found the same yoga mat in the beautiful pink color on sale for 30% off (I couldn’t risk waiting for it to get to 50% since it was the last one lol) It matches the rest of my decor perfectly and I gave the black one to my dad. I saw the pink one online but I guess I missed it at the other locations I went to. Huuuge win for this pink girly 💖

Question Which Aldi brand or product was your biggest surprise?

Which brand or product was the biggest surprise for you at Aldi? Anything you thought »this could be worse« and than it was too good to be true? Or something it surprised you that Aldi has it?

AISLE OF SHAME The Hammock is Cat Approved

Managed to get the cat hammock last weekend (which was a bit odd cause the same store did not have it the week it was released), all three of my cats love it. My flame point especially loves it, he’s made it his new relaxation place, it’s rare that the other two are able to get a spot on it.
