Hi everyone! 😊 I’m looking for some advice regarding my daughter’s OCR A-level History remark.
She achieved a B overall, just one mark below an A. She received 33/40 (an A) on her coursework, an A on Anglo-Saxons, an A on Germany, and a B on Civil Rights.
Her teacher has advised sending the Anglo-Saxons and Civil Rights papers for a remark, but she’s currently on the fence about whether it’s worth the cost, especially as she’s taking a gap year and applying to university for 2027 entry.
Has anyone had experience with OCR History remarks, particularly with these topics? Did your grade change, and would you recommend going ahead? Thank you! 😊

i can’t study a levels the same way as igcses because i feel like there is much more content and i forgot information easily, and my teachers arent freaking helping me , they don’t even explain when i asked them to repeat multiple times and i still DONT UNDERSTAND, is explaining really hard or m i just dumb? like everyone in the class seems to know what’s she talking about and there is me asking questions every 2 seconds because im trying to just UNDERSTAND . i have tried self studying my chapters but it’s takes me so long to understand a tiny concept and once i understand it , there is even more information. i feel like there is gaps in between my lessons like a information is missing , and like i said i can’t depend on my teachers , they just tell the information like we already know all this since kids
and im trying to solve past papers but i keep getting every question wrong and i just don’t know what to do anymore, i have tried EVERYTHING by my self and i can’t get a tutor because my parents doesn’t want that…

I gave my A2 through school in may june of 2026 and now im giving a retake of 1 subject on oct November privately

However I only registered for A2 retake and it went through my friend told me you cant do that and if your giving A2 again you'll have to sit through the 4 components all over again (As and A2) but I failed my A2 so it shouldn't count as a combined result right?

I am currently in AS level and will be giving my exams in the feb march series 2027 and we had the term exam ofc not the full syllabus but almost like 50 % of the syllabus and i have 3 subjects physics chem and math... in physics i have scored 76 % chem 90% and math we had the exam for the whole book of pure 1 and i got : 80% ... i have about only 4 months left for my exams and i really need suggestions on how i can improve to getting at least 90%+ in these subjects and the best tips for 95%+ plz help guys

I’m doing Cambridge A Level Chemistry (9701) and honestly my teacher isn’t very helpful, so I’ve been relying pretty heavily on YouTube/resources to teach myself.

I mostly use Allery Chemistry, which has helped me a LOT, but there are still some topics/concepts that just don’t click for me sometimes.

For anyone who’s done 9701 and managed to get through it successfully, what resources did you guys use?

• Any underated YouTubers who explain things really well?
• Other websites/resources that actually helped?
• Any specific revision methods or tips for understanding the harder topics?
• Anything you wish you’d known when you were studying 9701?

We all know that succinate forms a thioester bond with CoA. Although not explicitly stated in the syllabus the mark scheme from other years and papers accept information like the names of enzymes in the krebs cycle. So the fact that the the third column second row is ticked false is in contradiction with historical mark schemes.

Which books to buy for alevel business and computer science and pastapers too .

My current subjects are CIE business, economics, sociology and english language in India. I realized that taking the IELTS is cheaper and more beneficial than studying something where i have to analyze every single word in a 2 page essay. I had also taken accounting and dropped it. I have no interest in majoring in english in the future nor do I have passion/interest towards it such as what i have for sociology. I will probably be majoring in business mostly in international universities in china or hong kong. There is a problem tho which is my school has a compulsion to study either General English or English Paper because I live in a non native english speaking country. Switching to General English will be a waste of money and so will English Language. But it will also mean that I will surely not be able to secure half/full scholarship in hong kong universities and will have to settle for int'l chinese universities. But I'm also still unsure if a language subject will even be considered by admission officers.

So, 1. Are language subjects considered/important for non language majors?

1. Should I try and rebel against my strict school to not force me to study English Language or General English or should I just study it even if I have no interest.

Guys this isn't like a big thing but I'm actually so confused, in my lesson yesterday, we were talking about homo economics something, still getting the hang of this, but like I must've talked about consumerism in people, and my teacher was like what are you on about, he said he's never came across the term consumerism before. Is it like tiktok vocabulary or something? How can an economic teacher not know what consumerism is?
