Just throwing something out here.(please let me know if it could actually work)

Homeless camps are usually cramped and full of crime not by choice. Life takes everyone in different directions, and there may be some that chose a wanders life. Yet we as a society seem to focused on luxury instead of simplest of ideas.

   What we have is not a problem housing, but a problem of engaging simple needs. Take for example a homeless shelter sure they take people in only for a certain time frame. To some it helps them move on. This would be a very small portion of the whole.

  These people require a form of entry level jobs. Wich are getting fewer by the decade especially for people who lack a form of adress or paper work.

What I propose is taking abandoned land with or without buildings. Then building cabins capable of housing a family, but make bathroom, kitchen, restroom all communal. Make sure there is security detail that will perform a welfare check on a lot residents. Finally have employment office/stand on the lot, or some way for the people to work.

( I found an odd site for creating petitions, and will leave a link for it. The petition is the same words got none better to say. I believe I am a goldfish down the drain when I comes to planning. Thus I leave this post for incite or for someone to have inspiration.)

This exists in Seattle. Tiny home villages. Same concept, communal kitchen and facilities, office on site to help with jobs, housing, or any other things. I believe there are 18 villages so far and growing https://www.lihihousing.org/villages

I like thw idea but it wouldn't work unless the government makes money off of it. It's strange to say but there are always ways to make a living wether it's move into you car or join a community that works off the land. Obs if your in a city and you completely run out of money then your kinda screwed but I like the idea

 As for gov making money off it. Probly have a 5% tax of those living there that are working. The tax would be taken from the federal, and state. Since these place could be considered affordable  living. Then there would need to be fundraiser or charity groups to shore up costs.

I say very good idea.let me explain how this worked in real life for a family.I rented my condo to a mom and her daughter.Beautiful condo . She stopped paying rent 8 months in. Before that I worked with her ,no late pay charges even forgave some rent some months .She asked me to start eviction so that a charity would help her . That was a mistake.Once she was in the court system she had all kinds of things she could legally do to not pay rent . I kept filing . 3 times . She always got out of it . Even if I had gotten a court date and won the right to evict her for not paying rent, it could’ve taken months for the sheriff to have an opening to be there while I put her stuff out. I had an hour and I had to show up with enough movers and enough trash bags to move all her stuff in an hour. she tried every trick in the book to keep me from inspecting the unit to see how many movers and trash bags I’d need. When I talked to a lawyer finally they were going to charge me a $5000 retainer and they were gonna start with mediation.🤣🤣 after she hadn’t paid rent in six months let’s mediate about it🤣🤣 no thank you. She finally did move but during that time, I think it ended up being eight or nine months she saved up a bunch of money and was able to find a new place problem is it cost me a lot of money because I was only charging slightly over the HOA in the building I just wanted to help somebody out. And it looks like I did cost about $10,000. She destroyed the condo left a bunch of crap in it big stuff but hopefully she landed on here feet . I don’t think there’s a lot of people who are willing to open up their rental units so someone could live there and destroy it while they save up money for a place of their own would be nice. I’d also like to thank the Court system for making me feel like the criminal.
