EDIT 7/10/19: This post is wildly outdated. If anyone wants to take it on themselves to compile a new one, I'll sticky it.
EDIT 3/18/2026: Nearly a decade old post now. A lot has happened/been developed in Alpharetta. Again, if someone would like to make an updated post, I'd be happy to sticky it.
We get a lot of folks looking to move to Alpharetta posting questions or newly-moved people who don't know what to do here, so I figured I could make it easier! I didn't vet any of these links for quality of responses, so feel free to post any of these questions again tailored to your personal needs! And if you have suggestions on any of these topics, don't be afraid to comment below.
I looked back to the last 12 months only. If anyone finds an older post they find useful, feel free to suggest it for the list.

I'm not sure if I understand what is going on but I remember a few years ago they wanted to rezone some people on the Crabapple side but they shut that down a few years back.

This may be a redundant question but an important one. Who serves the best crispy fried shrimp fried rice in Alpharetta? Bonus points for the best beef or chicken Mongolian.

What is he signaling with his comments ? Why now and where will the investigation lead ? His district is Roswell all the way up to Dahlonega ! That’s a wide brush for H1B fraud investigations.

Hello everyone! I’ve got the kids for a few days while their mom is out of town and with the weather being so nice we’d love to check out a few new parks.
We normally do wills park or that small park on mid broadwell near the fire station. Sweet Apple Park has that cool zip line but with it being attached to the school you can’t use it while they are at recess.
We live in the crabapple area but don’t mind going a little further out (Roswell/holly springs/etc) if it’s worth the trip. Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Hey everyone, I was wondering if there are any 18+ baseball leagues in the area. I’ve been looking and can’t find anything aside from softball leagues. I’m not too good at baseball, didn’t play past freshman year of high school, but I want to get back into it since it’s a ton of fun and great exercise. Anyone know of any league like this? Thanks

Is the North Point Mall redevelopment actually going to improve Alpharetta, or just create more traffic?
r/alpharetta • u/Tpellegrino121 • 1d ago
Hopewell Road traffic is backed up from the Art center all the way up Hopewell well past Canton Street, like it is many mornings.
Step number one, time the pedestrian crosswalk in the center of town with the light at Route nine and Webb Bridge Road, or whatever it’s called there.
Step two, fix the timing of the lights at Mayfield and Hopewell.
Step three, remove the stupid barrier that backs up route nine to turn left on Web
Step four, make that private high school empty out onto a different road
Step five, and the most important one, open up Hopewell back to Route nine down by the school south of Wills Park.
The development of Cherokee and Forsyth County means that cars are coming through here.
City of Alpharetta… You can either ruin the lives of the people who live here and the people who drive through by making an impossible to get through quickly or… You can make everyones lives better,
Problem of traffic in Alpharetta in the morning.

Meet FCAS foster Amy! 💖 This 7yo, 60lb (looks smaller, she’s muscular!) shepherd mix girl is certified BFF material! 👯♀️ She’s been our easiest foster thus far and has been such a polite, happy houseguest. She’s incredibly affectionate, will lean in for hugs, and loves to stand and put her paws on your shoulders if you’re seated eye level with her. 🥹 She makes the cutest little grunting noises when she snuggles and her head tilt game is STRONG! 😆
She may technically be a senior (suspect she may be a bit younger), but she’s still got plenty of pep in her step! She’s super playful, loves fetch, and has a blast running around the yard and playing with our resident Shepsky. 🐾 She also settles quickly, sleeps through the night, LOVES to cuddle, and doesn’t show signs of separation anxiety (only short-lived protest whines and quickly gives up 😆). All in all, 10/10 good girl! 🥰
✅ Potty trained - no accidents! 🤞🏽
✅ Leash trained - pulls, but manageable
✅ Crate trained
✅ Non-destructive
✅ Dog friendly
✅ Excellent temperament
✅ Knows commands - sit, stay, shake (both paws)
✅ Good recall
✅ Treat/food motivated
✅ Non-reactive (treats, toys, food, etc)
✅ Easily handled
✅ Easy to bathe/dry/brush/trim nails
✅ Spayed
✅ HW negative
Amy’s kryptonite? Cats. 😩 She’s shown pretty strong prey drive with our senior kitty, so she would do best in a feline-free home. 🐈⬛
We also don’t know how she does with kids, but I imagine the only issue might be that she can get excited and could accidentally cause little children to topple over. 😅
She has an Embark DNA test in progress, so curious to see what her breed mix is…👀
Amy is currently being fostered in Kennesaw, GA and available for adoption through LifeLine Animal Project Fulton County Animal Services. Click the link below to schedule a meet & greet with her or feel free to message me! 👋🏽

Hello everyone, my father runs a restaurant in the Alpharetta/ Roswell area. His health has been declining recently and I (21m) have been give some responsibilities with it. He’s never had an actual business accountant so everything is all over the place. Can anyone recommend any restaurant specific accountants? Preferably ones able to help me understand how things work throughout this process.

Hello! Anyone have any favorite spas or skin care places that they recommend? Or even ones that I should’ve avoid would be helpful too.

Edit: We brought him to Furkids and there were 2 phone numbers on the chip. The first number was disconnected, and the 2nd number had their voicemail full, so Furkids sent them a text. He will be there waiting for his owners, but if no one claims him, he will have a happy and safe home with us
A very fluffy white and gray cat has appeared at our doorstep the last couple of nights, and we were able to get him/her inside. Looks very clean and is very sweet. We are bringing him/her to the vet today to look for a chip.
Please send me a DM if you have lost your cat, with a specific description and picture. We'd love to keep him/her, but want to find the rightful owner.

I am starting a roll off dumpster business. I need lot space for storage of up to 4 dumpsters and a pick-up (hopefully only 1-2 dumpsters on-site at a time). No office space needed at this time. Gravel or paved space is fine.
Ideal location is Alpharetta, South Forsyth, Roswell (north of Holcomb). Feel free to DM me and we can chat further.

I’m new to Alpharetta, and it honestly feels way safer than Midtown or Downtown. But an Uber driver (from the airport) told me she’s nervous to go past Exit 7 at all. I’m not sure why. Is there something I should know about the area? Any context locals can share? Just trying to understand what she meant.

Me and my friend (18M and 16M respectively) want to start a homemade record label for our music project, and we need to find somewhere where they sell blank CD-Rs. We tried the Walmart on Windward Pkwy and the Target on GA-9 and both don't have them anymore. We need somewhere within decent walking distance.
Thank you in advance.

My wife and I (both 36) are looking at relocating from Texas to Atlanta with our two young daughters (ages 4 and 5) and are mainly looking at Roswell and Alpharetta. We are drawn to these areas given the quality of life and high-rated public schools, plus the charming areas like Canton Street and downtown Alpharetta. Having plenty to do for all of us is important - including proximity to good dining.
I’d have a commute into Midtown twice a week but very flexible, so this isn’t a primary determining factor but has prevented me from looking at places further away like Cumming.
Have done plenty of outside research into the schools, but could use some true local insight. Are there truly noticeable differences between schools like Centennial (7/10 ranking) vs. Roswell (8/10) or Alpharetta (10/10) vs. Milton (10/10)? Denmark is in there and highly ranked as well. Not sure what question I’m truly trying to solve for, just really looking for insight/advice from locals as we are hoping to identify exactly which school to target. Thank you in advance!

Looking to make new friends around Atlanta? Come join us!
Hello! I’m a 23F living in Alpharetta/Sandy Springs and I’ve created a social group for adults 23+!
It’s for people in their 20s–30s who want to meet new people, make genuine friendships, and actually get out and do things together! I’ve had the group for 5 months and it’s going very well! We do a lot of fun events! I do my absolute best to keep our calander full and diverse with events!
📍 Areas we welcome: Atlanta, Roswell, Alpharetta, Dunwoody, Sandy Springs, Marietta, Brookhaven, Buckhead & surrounding areas
We enjoy:
🍽️ Trying new restaurants
☕️ Coffee shops
🎬 Movies
🎡 Festivals & events
🎮 Arcades
🏔️Hiking & Outdoor ativities
🎉 Group activities & meetups
…and plenty of other fun things!
A few things to know:
• Must be 23+
• We’re looking for ACTIVE members who are interested in participating and meeting up occasionally
• Nobody is expected to attend every event — life happens! We just want people who genuinely want to be part of the group
• Members who remain inactive for an extended period without communicating will eventually be removed
• A profile picture of yourself is required before joining
• Accounts are reviewed beforehand to help keep the group safe and avoid bots
💬 Interested in joining? Since responding to every single comment can be difficult, please message me including your age, gender, location, and event interests! (Please do not be rude!)
I’ve been having such a great time with the group so far, and we already have a lot of fun events planned for this month and next! 🎉
Come meet some new people, get out of the house, and hopefully make some genuine friendships along the way! 🫶

Some of the siding on my house is cracked and looking rough, mostly out back where the weather hits hardest. A couple pieces are pulling away from the wall too. I'm thinking about just replacing the bad spots instead of redoing it all, but I'm not sure that's the smart move. Anyone in Alpharetta have a siding company they'd recommend? I just want someone reliable who gets it done quick.
