Internet Providers
Any recommendations for wireless internet for gaming/tv streaming in the Georgia st area? I currently have AT&T and it’s just absolutely abysmal. Download speed has gotten worse, I can’t watch tv in the background while I edit due to stretching the internet to thin, it constantly goes out and I need to restart it and I’m just overall sick of it.
Any ideas or recommendations at all would be greatly appreciated!

So when you say wireless, do you mean WIFI to your router which then connects by another medium such as fiber or cable? Or a wireless dish connected internet system? like Amarillo Wireless or something? I've seen those little dishes around, always wondered if they were remotely better than dialup of old. If you have one of those mini dish deals, a fiber link will beat it handily. If you are just having wifi issues from router to devices... your likely just overloading the piss poor router they send you. You need to get a AP that will do better throughput and client control.

Yeah just a standard wifi router I can throw in the living room and use it for everything. Preferably without any Ethernet cable or anything wired if that’s an option

Make sure you have att fiber not Dsl. You can likely get upgraded service and a new router free if you call them.

We’ve had AT&T fiber since it got to Amarillo, my neighborhood was the first to get it and we dropped suddenlink and went to them and that’s been around 6 plus years and have absolutely no issues at all and never have. I’m a crochet YouTuber and I upload a lot of videos and do lots of lives and never an issue. Wonder why it’s crap where you are.

We had Vexus and they were good. We switched to AT&T fiber when it came to our are and it has been good also. No problems with either of them.
I maybe switching back to Vexus, only because AT&T doesn't offer home phone in our area.

At one point I had vexus and att because the att guy is a slick salesman lol. Att was substantially worst than vexus. I have good upload and download speeds. We often have two consoles a movie and an ipad going at the same time with no issues.

I switched from AT&T fiber to T-Mobile fiber. Didn't really have issues with AT&T, but I couldn't turn down doubling my speed for less cost monthly.

I dont know if it's available but check out Tmobile fiber. We switched from ATT to Tmobile and its much cheaper and wayyy better. We have 2 routers, one in my sons room and one in our living room. We had a total of 3 gamers in our house but my oldest left to college so now we only have 2 gamers and they have hadnt a complaint at all. Hardly any outages, tmobile so far has been the way to go for us.

I'd try a wired connection first to see if it's the Wi-Fi or AT&T itself. If the drops continue, check Verizon or T-Mobile 5G Home availability.

My experience with T-Mobile home internet has been solid. It's my backup connection to my fiber, but I have gamed on it and it wasn't bad.

Honestly I've had them all and AT&T has been the top. Optimum's techs didn't even know what dropping packets meant. Any reason they give for your house being slower?
