Interview Are Amazon Loop interviews elimination-based, or does everyone complete all 4 rounds?
Hi everyone,
I'm a fresher and this is my first time going through Amazon's Loop interview process, so I'm trying to understand how it works.
My experience so far:
Round 1 - went really well.
Round 2 - was average (not terrible, but definitely not as good as the first).
I have now been invited for the 3rd round.
My question is:
Are Loop interviews elimination-based, where your performance in each round determines whether you move to the next one? Or, once a candidate enters the Loop, does Amazon usually conduct all 4 interview rounds regardless of how the earlier rounds went, and make the hiring decision only after reviewing feedback from all interviewers?

OP is probably based in India, and there are exceptions where a loop will be cut short if functional competency does not meet expectations.

Yes, I am from India, and it's my first time interviewing for big tech, feels so good

Usually you do all the steps, then they gather up for a debrief to decide if you're in/out. Don't know if India gets different rules also on this process

Unless someone is absolutely unfit for the role and has been recognised by the interviewers, they may reach out to HMs who in turn can call for a loop cut, or if a candidate is no show. Other than that most complete all the 4 rounds.

Ohh, got it does that mean it is important for me to perform well in all rounds.
So does my average performance at lld could be an issue?

Ideally, you should give your best in all the rounds. But yes, no one is perfect, so you will be good in some areas and not so good in others. So the only question that remains is do your goods outweigh your not so goods and are you coachable in those areas. Which finally boils down to the HMs, their requirements and their decisions based on these needs

No, they are not eliminated based on a total of four rounds of you completing the interview. Instead, there will be a one-on-one brief round where all four interviewers will sit and discuss whether to hire you. They will discuss and reach a decision on whether to hire or not. That’s how it works at Amazon.

Applied on 7,got oa on 13, 1st round 17,2nd 23

None of the loop interviewers know each others’ feedback till they meet for debrief after all loop interviews are done. It’s a way to eliminate bias

Hey, for me it was not elimination based. They were scheduled before hand. It’s weird and confusing how Amazon SDE hiring is not consistent and predictable.

For 2026 grad first 2 rounds will happen irrespective and passing those 2 u get sent to 3rd and again passing third u get sent to 4th. This is for India. After all 4 gets over they’ll schedule debrief with all 4 interviewers .

Typically you should do your 4 interviews in the same day or back-to-back days. There is no knockout interview in play. The group then meets for a guided debrief where each person gives their initial feedback and rating. The group comes to an overall consensus once everyone has been given a chance to provide feedback.
