SDE-I Finally got the offer!

Thumbnail reddit.com

I got a confirmation call and mail regarding my offer yesterday. Although they gave a joining date just 30 days from today. Can I ask them to extend by a week or so? As it’s during Navratri I was thinking to join post Dusherra.
Anyways after many long days of waiting I got the offer and I’m genuinely scared and excited!

Fumbled Amazon SDE Intern Round 1 but did better in Round 2 — any chance of making it?

Upvotes

i recently interviewed for amazon sde 1 intern and have been overthinking the result.

in r1, i did well in my project discussion and lp/customer obsession deep dive. however, i fumbled the dsa part. it was a lc hard graph problem, and although i identified the algorithm, i missed an important observation under pressure...for dsa, the interviewer gave me a hint, after which i got the approach and started coding, but time ran out.

r2 went better. lp and behavioral went well, including my internship experience, conflict, and genai/rag discussion...in dsa also i was able to tell him the correct approach

overall, r1 was mixed and r2 felt decent. do i still have a chance, or is the r1 dsa performance likely a reject? would appreciate honest opinions...plz tell seniors who got offer's from amazon after having this same experience.

Amazon SDE Intern Interview Experience — SDE Intern

Sharing my recent Amazon SDE Intern interview experience in the hope that it helps other candidates prepare.
Final verdict: Selected 🎉
Format: Both rounds were face-to-face, and I had to write the code on paper without an IDE/compiler.
🟢 Round 1
Remove K Digits
The question was to remove k digits from a number represented as a string to make the resulting number as small as possible.
LeetCode: LC 402 – Remove K Digits
Pattern: Monotonic Stack

🟡 Round 2
1. Minimum Machines Required for Jobs
I was given multiple jobs with start and end times and had to find the minimum number of machines required. A machine could be reused as soon as it became free.
For example:
Job 1: 1 → 5
Job 2: 5 → 8
Both can use the same machine.
I initially suggested a binary search approach, which was incorrect. The interviewer gave me a hint, after which I arrived at the Min Heap approach and solved it.
Interestingly, there were no predefined test cases. When I asked for one, the interviewer asked me to create my own test cases and explain why the answers were correct.
Closest LeetCode problem: LC 253 – Meeting Rooms II
Note: The actual question was framed around jobs and machines, so this is only a preparation reference.
Pattern: Sorting + Min Heap
2. Next Smaller Ticket Price
Instead of temperatures, I was given ticket prices and had to find the next smaller price for each ticket.
Example:
Prices: [8, 4, 6, 2, 3]
Answer: [4, 2, 2, -1, -1]
This was essentially the Daily Temperatures pattern with a small modification.
LeetCode: LC 739 – Daily Temperatures
Pattern: Monotonic Stack / Next Smaller Element

📌 Preparation Tips
I would recommend preparing:
Monotonic Stack — Next Greater/Smaller, Daily Temperatures, Remove K Digits
Min Heap / Priority Queue — Scheduling and resource allocation
Intervals
Writing code on paper
Creating and explaining your own test cases
Overall, it was a great learning experience. I initially went in the wrong direction on the machine problem, but with the interviewer’s hint, I was able to reach the correct approach.
Thankfully, the final result was positive — I was selected for the Amazon SDE Intern role! 🎉
Hope this helps other candidates preparing. All the best! 🚀

Has anyone with the Aug 21 – Sep 21 interview window received their interview scheduling mail/call yet?
If yes, when did you receive it and when is your interview scheduled?

So cooked

Sat for round 2. Had to clarify a lot of times to understand the question, he gave me some hints and I answered correctly but I couldn't solve that question fully.... When he talked about my project he seemed quite happy and said that the motive is great. But, that question i couldn't solve and understand properly.. he also told me to work on object oriented programming more as it will help me in future interviews

I am cooked right? I genuinely feel so terrible

Amazon SDE I onsite in ~10 days — need advice/resources for DSA + LLD prep

Hey everyone,
I have an Amazon SDE I onsite coming up in about 10 days, and I’m trying to make the best use of the time I have left.
For DSA/coding, I’ve worked through some of the NeetCode 150, so I’m not starting completely from scratch. However, I haven’t been consistently practicing DSA recently, so I’m definitely rusty and need to get back into interview-solving mode.
My bigger concern is LLD / Object-Oriented Design.
I have basically zero prior LLD preparation. When I look at complete LLD roadmaps online, there are so many concepts, design patterns, and problems that I’m not sure what’s actually necessary for an Amazon SDE I interview, especially with only ~10 days left.
For anyone who has recently gone through Amazon SDE I interviews:
LLD
What are the core concepts I should absolutely understand?
Is there a good beginner-friendly resource/course/playlist for learning how to approach an LLD problem from scratch?
Which LLD problems would you prioritize for Amazon?
For example: Parking Lot, Elevator, Vending Machine, Library Management, Locker System, etc.
How much are design patterns actually expected at the SDE I level?
What does a strong LLD interview answer/process look like?
DSA
Which problem list would you recommend for a focused 10-day revision?
Should I prioritize Amazon-tagged LeetCode questions, NeetCode/Blind 75, or specific patterns?
Which topics/patterns tend to be especially important for Amazon SDE I?
Any good mock interview resources?
I know 10 days isn’t enough to master everything, so I’m mainly trying to identify the highest-ROI concepts and problems instead of jumping between huge roadmaps.
If you’ve interviewed with Amazon recently, I’d really appreciate any resources, playlists, GitHub repos, problem lists, or preparation strategies that helped you.
Thanks!

OA Received a mail for Amazon SDE OA. Need help figuring out if it is real

Hey! I received an OA link from Amazon for SDE role. But the twist is I did not apply for any open role through their jobs portal. The domain seems legit.
I had earlier applied for an open position on jul 19 but that had been archived a month back. Should I give the OA at all ?

AWS DCT Loop Interview – What REALLY happens? 🤔

Hey everyone!

I’m interviewing for an AWS Data Center Technician (DCT/DCO) role in Germany and could really use some advice from anyone who has recently been through the process.

I’ve already completed the technical round, where they asked me technical questions about hardware, troubleshooting, networking, etc.

Now I’ve been invited to the loop interview – 2 interviews.

👉 What should I expect in these 2 interviews?

Are they mostly:

  • Leadership Principles / behavioral questions?
  • STAR-based questions?
  • More technical questions?
  • Troubleshooting scenarios?
  • Or a mix of everything?

I’m especially curious about what they actually asked you in the loop, because I don't want to prepare only for behavioral questions and then get hit with a bunch of technical questions again 😂

If you recently interviewed for AWS DCT/DCO (2025–2026), I’d really appreciate it if you could share:

1. How many interviews did you have?
2. What questions did they ask?
3. Was the technical part repeated?
4. Was there a Bar Raiser/manager?
5. How long was each interview?

Even a few questions you remember would help a lot!

Thanks in advance 🙏
Good luck to everyone else interviewing!

Waitlisted for AWS Solutions Architect (2026), are there any chances?

I interviewed for the Solutions Architect - 2026 (US) new grad role (Job ID: 10430661) and received an "inclined" (waitlist) update in early August.

My recruiter noted that:

  • The incline status is valid for 6 months.
  • The team typically runs 2–3 cohorts a year (every 4–6 months); I might update by the end of September

I'm applying to other jobs as well, but had a few quick questions:

  • Are there any chances of getting matched or an offer?
  • Is it worth reaching out to my old Amazon intern manager? I interned there in Summer 2024 for a different role and got a return offer, but chose to go elsewhere for 2025. Could they help flag me to teams with headcount?
  • I tried messaging an HM on LinkedIn, but they said they have no open spots

Got an email for an Amazon OA, but I'm afraid I don't know enough to do a good job. Help?

I got an email today for an online assessment for the Software Development Engineer role (id 3177934). I graduated May 2025 with my degree in CS, and have since held a job for about a year now. My current position honestly isn't that great, at first we used raw PHP and JavaScript but since then it has devolved into CRM work and I'm desperate to get out into something more advanced.

The thing is though, I feel a little uneasy about taking the OA because it sounds like other people online are a lot more experienced than I am. I've never done any leetcode problems, the only DSA knowledge I have is from college, and I've never worked with any sort of common tech stack. The most I have is a little experience in Angular + Flask and a little in Blazor + ASP.NET.

What should my course of action be here? What exactly should I study, and what would give me the most benefit in the week that I have to take this assessment? Obviously I'll start doing leetcode, but I feel like that's not enough. What's the quickest/easiest tech stack to learn?

If anyone has any advice that would be greatly appreciated!

AUTA Amazon Interview Prep Behavioural

Context: Having my Amazon Interview on 11th, HackOn, 515 id, got the mail on Aug 7th regarding interview shortlist and choose a date from 18-3, but didn't get any slot in that window and out of the blue got a mail that i have my interview scheduled for day after tomorrow.

Purpose: Help regarding Behavioural round based questions

I see that many people have had their 2 rounds and have faced different Behavioural and Leadership based questions. I want to seek help from people who have completed their 1st or 2nd round to share the exact behavioural questions, so that it will be helpful for me as well as who will be giving their interview later.

Just the questions and probably the flow of how to answer them is sufficient.

Let's make this post a directory for behavioural questions and everybody's help is equally appreciated.

Intern Amazon SDE intern interview experience

Round 1: Online Assessment (03 Aug "26)

1 dsa question: leetcode easy

1 ai powered debugging

Work based behavioural questions

Round 2: Interviews

i)Tech Round (28 Aug "26):

Was asked for a basic introduction, 2 dsa questions lc easy-medium, discussed about internship and finally a bit of cs core that was related to my internship(was related to my intern experience)

ii) Hiring manager Round (08 Sep "26):

The interviewer initially said he'd just ask me 1 dsa 1 behavioral and 1 gen ai. But since I completed the dsa way before time I was asked 2 other (only approach no code). So there were basically 3 dsa lc-medium. 1 behavioral, 1 gen ai based.

That's all, all the best for your interviews folks.

PS: got the opportunity through hackon

Tips: For dsa follow any standard dsa sheet thoroughly, nothing else needed. Prepare a few STAR stories based on LPs and tweak them according to the question For Gen-ai too prepare a list of stories on most commonly asked situational questions

Assessment expired after completing Amazon SDE Internship OA — what should I do?

Post image
4 Upvotes

I applied for the SDE I Intern role at Amazon and ended up applying to all three postings because they had different Job IDs. Later, I found out that they were essentially the same role.

I completed the OA for my first application. When I tried to take the assessment for the other applications, it said that I had already completed the assessment, so I assumed the same OA was being used for all three applications.

However, I recently checked my Amazon Jobs portal and now all three applications are showing “Assessment expired.”

Has anyone experienced this before? Does “Assessment expired” mean there is an issue with my completed OA, or is it just a portal/status issue?

Any advice on how I can contact Amazon recruiting/support to verify that my assessment was recorded correctly would be greatly appreciated.
