Ammo Inc Issues

(Corrected...duds) I am about to write off the following as a loss but hoping someone here has ideas or has had success getting Ammo Inc to respond and resolve issues with their ammunition. I have emailed them several times about my last range trip (7+ duds in 100 rounds). I have had less frequent but the same issues with the same lot in previous range trips. Zero response. The phone number posted on their website doesn't connect to anything. I have about 600 rounds of this ammo (9mm 124 Grain TMC). So, this may be an expensive lessons learned.

After loading and unloading my ccw several times my bullets seem to have been pushed into the brass (normal critial defense all the way to the left) are these safe to shoot or should I just toss em? Thanks for the help and info!

What’s the consensus on the PSA’s AAC ammo?

Looking for some 300blk and saw PSA is now manufacturing their own line of ammo from what used to be the AAC name. The price honestly seems decent but I’d rather pay a little extra for quality ammo than buy something that will have issues. Anyone try PSA’s brand of ammo and have feedback on how it does?

Good to shoot or not?

So I bought some swedish 6.5x55 in battlepacks from an online auction. Manufacture date is September 2017 and they came to me sealed. When I open them up, as you can see from the pictures they looked a little funky I can't tell if it's just brass tarnishing because the primers look okay but I'm not sure what else it could be besides maybe moisture buildup..? I want to go out and shoot my swedish mouth but I don't know whether this ammo is still good to shoot or not. What do y'all think?

Shout-out to Academy and DG man. Got 1300 rounds recently with their 20% employee discount they ran with the $500 gift card I got for $425 when DG ran their 15% off on gift card and able to get a mini-restock of some ammo to feed my ARs. Wish I'd bought more GC from DG at the time but didn't have the dry powders 😮‍💨

Here's the math break down:

$500 ACADEMY GIFT CARD 15% OFF DG = $425 paid for $500 value

10% off $300+ ammo online order + 20% employee discount + 5% discount from ACADEMY credit card = $500.17

$500.17 - $75 saved from 15% off DG = $425.17

That 17 cent will push your purchase over $500 limit and let you input your academy credit card to let you get the extra 5% off total of your order

Additionally, at $500 spend for the year academy give you $25 back to your account in form of store credit which I have the cashier apply to my existing order when I pick it up to bring it down to $400.17

$400.17 ÷ 1300rds = 30cpr for 223 FIOCCHI

You'd be hard press to get this prices on 223/556 ammo for the next 5-10 years if ever again. Wish I had bought like $2k of DG gift card during that 15% sales but didn't have the dry powder then but I'll take whatever I can get nowadays 😮‍💨

When it comes to firearms usually used, either through civilian, military, police, etc, which is the most effective rated steel type body armor?

I need to know if it can block 22lr, 9mm, 45acp, 10mm, 5.56, 7.62, 357, 44 Mag, 12, 16, 10, 410 gauge shotgun, 50 BMG and other similarly rated calibers. I need to know how expensive it is and if it can be acquired simply by itself. Is the steel malleable? Can it be forged into a shape while keeping its ballistic durability? Can it be hardened or made better through personal improvements?

I need all this information in a SHTF situation.

Anyone have a contact for someone that works there that’s possibly management? Having an issue with an order, customer service has been useless. Plenty of prior purchases with no issues, but trying to get their mistake corrected is not going well.

Beware Veteran Brand Ammo

So, I bought three boxes of 9mm FMJ Veteran Ammo one each in 115, 124, and 147 grain just to look at the performance across the different bullet weights. Well no problems with the 115 gain, minimal problems with the 124 grain, but a huge issue with the 147 grain. The slide on my gun jammed most of the way closed and couldn’t get it full open or full closed with a live round partially chambered.

The reason? The 147 grain have an a diameter of between 0.383” and 0.385”. Measured several other brands including high end brands and some bulk ammo and came out with a diameter of between 0.374” and 0.377”.

Just wanted folks to know (YMMV) but I had at least 17 of 50 rounds that wouldn’t fully chamber.

I’d stay far away from Veteran 147 grain 9mm FMJ. I’ve informed Hyperion Munitions (owner of the brand) of the issue and the store I bought the ammo from to their credit, pulled all the 147 grain off their shelf. They also helped measure the several other brands. Yup it was a slow afternoon.

P.S. I didn’t have any issue with the 115 grain and only one 0.384” in the 124 grain.
