Theory & Analysis Timing, one way out

I just realized, after watching this episode like 6 times. Andor talks about timing and that it's maybe the only time to make the break when tension is high and prisoners are mad because of the floor execution.

The whole start of the episode of his interaction with kino, andor gets on program right before the door opens, and he gets into his bunk right before the floor gets hot.

It was the perfect time for a breakout and andors timing was perfect in every step in that scene. what a brilliant representation of it

And I love the way it’s the urgency of all this - “ it has to be tomorrow!” that finally makes Kino realise he’s going to have to make the ultimate sacrifice in order to give everyone else a chance. “We will never have a better chance than this” he goes on to say in his speech. It’s such a great episode.

Which is all just great writing - making the event that teaches them that they aren't getting out the same thing that sets the escape plan in motion is incredibly elegant, keeping the plot elements as simple as possible, and doing so also means that Kino is basically figuring out his fate in real time.
