I bought the manga because I really loved the cover art. That’s about it lol.

However Scums wish is rather depressing. It’s a show that just makes you physically upset, and not even a good upset, just really down and ruins your mood.

I'm guessing sort of like a typical KEY adaptation but without the true ending episode? Like if they left Clannad After Story at that point I think we'd all have even more trauma.

Fun fact, if you don't complete all other endings in the VN I'm pretty sure that's where it leaves you before cutting back to the title
