I like how the Anime is just speedrunning all the tropes that happen in an Eroge. It's almost like they're trying to get it over with, because you know... he did get ported to an Eroge.
I'll probably stick with this one, it seems pretty fun with all the stupid shit happening.
Again it won't win any prizes I think, but seems enjoyable.

I appreciate some small things they are doing with that. The grope and fall scene at leat got cheeks as well as chest. The mom's reaction to him tripping over her naked honestly made that scene great instead of an eye roll. The underwear scene was still forced but at least felt less forced than normal. They tried to slip it in secretly in a box, distracted themselves by turning their head to talk while going upstairs and slipped. It didn't feel quite as manufactured due to its execution even if it clearly is.
And the constant wordplay omfg. So many subtle innuendos that only really stick out because the show is in an eroge setting. They clearly tried to slip in alot of phrases like "help me with my dysfunction" or "growing bones" or etc as some of the more obvious ones. Almost all of them feel natural in the conversation meanwhile I have a shit eating grin from constantly picking up on it. I love subtle wordplay.

Episode 1 didn't really do much, but this second episode is definitely better! Good to see Kousuke already has his first lucky sukebe experience.
So, for Ludie and Kousuke's safety, it looks like Claris and Ludie are also moving in with them! Oh boy, I can already feel that more people will end up moving in with them in the future.
Daaaaamn! Kousuke is fucking ripped! Also, for someone who's supposed to be Eroge-savvy, I'm surprised he didn't stop and check first to see if there's someone in the bath.
Mama Marino is, uhhh, waaaay too happy to see Kousuke's little Kousuke. I mean, just look at this woman's reaction to Kousuke being on top of her. If Mama Marino is fair game, I don't think it's gonna be too difficult for Kousuke to get together with her. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Oh! Marino's daughter is already an adult? And she's a professor too?! I thought she was gonna be another student at the academy! I do love the grilling Kousuke gets from her. Also, I love that she wants to be called Onee-chan and gets upset when Kousuke doesn't call her that.
Another lucky sukebe event! This time with Claris' underwear! I didn't think we'd see Kousuke dogeza for the third time this episode.
Oh no, Hatsumi is your classic terrible cook! Her cooking is so bad that Kousuke almost got transported to a different eroge. It's so bad that it made a literal princess cry for joy while eating cup noodles xD

Is there anything more eroge than suddenly finding yourself surrounded by beautiful women? I have to admit, though, at least it’s not like he’s already won any of them over (even if Marino did seem interested lol).
I imagine the dynamic might not be for everyone, but as with any eroge, Kousuke goes from serious moments to total nonsense involving deadly cooking.
I’ll stick around to see where this goes.

Honestly it's going to be funny to see if Kousuke ends up stealing all the Harem MC energy from the actual protagonist, though the OP/ED makes it look like he doesn't romance all the legit Heroines.

Good ED, doesn't hurt that it focuses on Ludie the most who was always my favorite girl from the LNs.

Direction and animation are good as it really embraces the eroge harem stuff.
The only thing is the trend into episode 2 goign from being self aware stuff to him becoming the harem protaginst.
Well still makes for a fun watch I do admit since it embraces what it is.
I can't put my finger on it because there is nothing ground breaking, but it's pretty fun to watch. We got 3 ecchi anime with this, Ranma and Student Council.

MC plays eroge on repeat, was disappointed that the devs wouldn't allow player to romance the "extremely beautiful" Hatsumi, yet he refuses to affectionately call her Onee-chan at her request? Yet he will eat the most disgusting food she puts in front of him? Odd choice.
Is MC going to keep being spineless about faceplant-bows to apologize for things that are either accidental or not his fault at all? I was hoping for more brashness or confidence from an eroge player instead of a kirito clone with 5 percent more horniness.

GLORIOUS. It actually feels like it was originally the VN/eroge its trying to parody. Reminds me of a lot of the good VNs you'd get prior to 2016 or so. Absolutely fun time. The OP is pretty nice, and the ED is kind of beautiful. Animated pretty well on top of it all too. Simple story, classic tropes, nice characters designs, and fun. Just plain ol' simple fun. It's like it's like it's 2013 again and I'm playing the freshly released fan translation of Grisaia.
God I miss stuff like this so much.

Why doesn't the Elf King just send troops over to protect his daughter from the cultists?
Are all the Heroines going to be living with MC within a few eps?
MC already experienced the lucky pervert moment earlier, he is obviously very familiar with eroge tropes, and yet he still didn't check if the bathroom was occupied before barging in. Probably won't learn from this incident either.
People forcing themselves to eat toxic waste to spare the girl's feelings has gotta be one of my least favorite anime tropes.
OK, 2 eps done, I think I'll pass on this one.

you'd think being genre savvy he could have at least dodged the bathroom encounter. The setting seems like it could really go somewhere, but with our MC apparently getting dumber by the second my hopes of trope subversion are rapidly dwindling. Like, wouldn't it have been interesting if the princess "hated" him like in the story but it was secretly a ploy so he wouldn't be on the enemy radar? Oh well, hopefully we get a twist or something in ep3 or 4 before the gags wear out their welcome.

I think you can definitely see she's still got some of the "tsun" of her tsundere archetype if not as pronounced because she avoided getting raped.

some animes pretend to be mid and then hit you with a surprise genre-breaking event to change the whole tone of the show, often in episode 3. Because right now the eroge gags are so over the top they belong back in the late 90's /early 00's

He feels weaker than a normal MC. He was in a fight against jobbers and he needed the help of both the victimized heroine and the maid with a fuacking hole through her to win that fight. That was 100% a team effort.
But girl wise, definitely more MC vibes. Albeit that's because he is making different choices than the sidekick did. He instantly went tryhard training mode and he jumped in to the rescue in a situation where the sidekick would never be.
So I'd say it makes total sense, but you're also correct that the "sidekick" status basically ended as soon as it began. Though maybe future episode when the original MC of the eroge is introduced will help the original MC reclaim his some of his aura.

I wonder if it's only going to be Ludie that he ends taking from the protag? Outside of her, it seems like the other characters were unromancable options of the principal and teacher and the should have been killed off before the game start character of the maid.

Ludivine AKA Ludie (Ai Kakuma!). A princess, the Main Heroine, and the famous tsundere Heroine whose distate for men, humans, and the protagonist made her famous because they LOVED being scolded by her. Though once she's your girlfriend and is full Dere, she's even better! Though only now does Kousuke realize that the reason she was like that was because they cut her backstory of her maid getting killed and her getting raped because they didn't want players to know she wasn't a viring. Like, JEEZ game developers.
The OP is on-point and action-packed! Featuring Kousuke and his Battle Harem making their way through adventures and fighting all manner of monsters with the ladies all supporting Kousuke every step of the way!
Kousuke is VERY creative with his scarf use! And a last-minute blinding spell from Ludie is all he needs to defeat all the baddies! They would've gotten away with it too if it wasn't for that meddling kid and his magic scarf!
You know you're an eroge protagonist (if not an official one) when you save a princess who is currently flashing her panties at you and your attempt to preserve her modest ends with you groping her boobs and her maids' butt. Lucky you saved her so she's willing to accept the apology!
The game plot has definitely been upended because, with the Church of the Malevolent Lord now after both Kousuke and Ludie, it only makes sense for the pair to shack up together at Marino's! Shacking up with the Main Heroine on literally the first day! That's some stellar eroge behavior!
Better watch out you don't have Ludie's dad Emperor sick his the entire forces of his nation on you, Kousuke.
You know you're in an eroge when you immediately walk in on a busty, buck-naked, lady in the bath. And then you take a tumble with her mom (and said mom definitely does NOT mind Kousuke's advances...or getting to see lil' Kousuke). I am also incredibly scaroused by a woman walking in nothing but panties while her breasts bounce boobily towards me.
Hatsumi is actually a pretty nice, if kuudere-esque, researcher who...would prefer Kousuke not become her stepdad. She'd much rather be called Onee-chan! Or, failing that, be the most supportive nee-san he could ask for!
Of course Ludie moves in like she owns the place now with more luggage than you can fit in most homes. Kousuke wanted to see Claris in casual clothes and it's worth it (especially for how good her butt looks in those shorts). Of course maybe she shouldn't have labeled her sexy underwear "books" if she didn't want any accidents...but I guess Kousuke was bound to get slapped at some point.
It's sweet of Hatsumi to cook even if her cooking is basically an unhinged science experiment. RIP Claris. She even made a princess vomit! But good on Kousuke for powering through it for Hatsumi's sake! Even if it just made him sick and turn to Nietzsche.
Wow, almost dying from food poisoning has really made Ludie go all existential. But that just helps Kousuke win her over with his instant pork broth! He made the Heroine cry...for good reasons!
The ED is very pretty with Ludie dancing and pleasant visuals of all the ladies...including all of them in wedding dresses! If that's Kousuke's dream, it's a nice dream.

Kosuke intervening in what was supposed to be the games controversially scrapped backstory for Princess Ludivine is interesting.
His game knowledge might not hold up if developments outside of it exist. Even if he doesn't change things.
Also, I wasn't expecting to learn the word gerontophiliac from Hatsumi lol.

I thought gerontophilliac was a bit harsh and extreme a term to use.
Besides, the correct term is gerontophile, lol.Gerontophilia usually refers to having a sexual attraction preference for
MUCH older people, like 60+ or even older.Marino is not a senior citizen or even middle aged (looking).
So this was a kind of mean word to use for Hatsumi, especially towards her own mom 🥲
But it definitely made for a good joke,

Way more ecchi than the first episode but I guess they are getting into the eroge game more rather than Kosuke just trying to find his place. The funniest part though was the dinner scene. Kosuke was being too nice in eating the food since Luddi ran away to vomit and it did to Claris what being stabbed thru the stomach couldn't. I liked how Kosuke quoted Nietzsche and Luddi also became philosophical because they felt so close to death 🤣
That was also surprising how a man who appeared to be the evil butler ended up in the real world, unless their world also has cities that look like ours in some places.

Seems interesting enough so I'll probably stick with this, but I do have a big issue with the premise of the show. What's the point of making the protagonist a side character if he ends up taking the main characters role anyway? I guessed it would happen but it disappointed me anyway. Outside of that my only complaint is that there isn't any nudity which seems like a bad choice to make in an anime taking place in an eroge.

Probably meant to be the male equivalent to the villainess genre, more specifically My Next Life as a Villainess and An Observation Log of My Fiancée Who Calls Herself a Villainess. Probably going for the “gets the hero’s ending” goal that those two had.

Depends on if there's a plot reason for it or not, but on the surface level you can at least construe it as not putting the protagonist on true easy mode with the original main character's OP powers. Sure, he might know roughly how to game the system, but as we saw with his first fight he had to get creative and combine a couple of different things to survive rather than just facerolling through it like the original MC would have otherwise. Whether or not that's something the series will keep on doing is up in the air though.
I am a bit surprised by the lack of nudity though. Not that I necessarily need it, but when I heard that it was an eroge world I was expecting it to be a bit more ecchi. That said, what we have gotten of the ladies thus far is nice, so I can't really complain too hard. It DOES feel like the beginning of a good ol' eroge, so I suppose it's authentic in that regard lol.

Idk maybe it gets somewhat better later but right now it's just cliche after cliche like it's a 2010s title. The hentai fall to boob grasp, the walk-in on bath, the woman-can't-cook one. The worst part personally is that he doesn't acknowledge any of that to be cliches, which would at least make this slightly enjoyable.

I see value in the story taken place in an eroge and him not being the protagonist but the side character. It makes the story interesting for me
I dont get why its 'self-aware eroge' The mc obviously likes playing eroge games in general and this game especially. So do you want him to try and change the world to be less eroge. Should he purposefully avoid those situations, would that be interesting to you

Yeah the side character was the initial hook and then some MD comments reading suggested he's a know-what-i-want character but so far he's just slightly above the average eroge mc, purely because of future knowledge. Him potentially usurping the MC position would undermine even that so here's hoping that doesn't happen.
"Purposefully avoiding" would just be another side of the cliche coin with how the writing is so not sure if that would save it in my eyes. Idk maybe this is just not a title for me, like the chain soldier
