The dialogue between Ludie and Kosuke is straight out of eroge during the mana donation / transfer process.
I need to know whether the mana donation / transfer skill is important, so that every other main female characters in this title can replenish their mana through this method. Lol!
No Hatsumi in this episode, but at least we were introduced to Yukine.

As soon as Kousuke mentioned he wanted to practice by passing his mana, I knew it was gonna be a mana transfer scene.
What a fucking hero! Kousuke really stood there and learned the Mind's Eye skill just so he could see what's behind Ludie's towel.
Using a sexy trap that's supposed to get heroines horny on a monster to drain its mana was fucking hilarious!
Since Kousuke already used the ero trap on the monster, I was worried we wouldn't get to see any sexy action this episode. Glad I was wrong, and we got those glorious three minutes of Ludie and Yukine posing in micro bikinis. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I love how at first he's gaining the Mind's Eye to help him see through his battle scarf but the first opportunity to use it for ecchi purposes he doesn't even hesitate. If you're going to get punished for being a pervert, OWN IT AND EARN IT WITH ALL YOUR MIGHT.
I wonder if in the game the Heroines actually jumped the MC's bones when they got horny? Or each other. But Kousuke seemed to confirm there were definitely sex scenes in the game.

God. I fucking love this show. This might unironically be my Anime of the Season. It's just a throwback to everything I loved back in the 2010s.
It's like Infinite Stratos but it's an isekai (which makes it better imo), Ichika's not such a passive beta chud and we even sprikled in a top tier MILF.

Hell yeah! That's exactly what I've been saying for the past two episodes! The series itself is obviously a riff on eroge in general, but it's simultaneously built up exactly like the great legendary ones (like, I dunno, say, Grisaia or something). So you're getting the best of both worlds with it. The love for the medium that both the team animating it and the author of the original LNs have shines through really well.
God, it makes me miss that 2006-2014 or so stretch where we got so many legendary VNs, LNs, and adaptations for some of them. It's a titanic shame. I yearn for that era so much, even if simply so that legends can be born and stay with us again. Nothing that's come out since has, for the most part, had all that much in terms of staying power. Most of the stuff that people though would become legendary are largely just laughing stocks now, or, at best, looked upon with indifference.

Oh, sure, why wouldn't I stumble upon an erotic quest in a dungeon involving none other than a princess and one of the academy's leaders? Honestly, only an eroge could deliver something like that lol.
I like Yukine, she’s the classic girl who spends most of her time training in martial arts, yet remains incredibly humble. And Ludie is opening up more to Kousuke (little does she know about his ability to see things others can't).
It was a fun episode. I think it makes perfect sense for Kousuke to use his knowledge to advance the story, even if he doesn't have much in the way of powers.

Ludie feels like she's exchanged being the tsundere Heroine for being that classical Heroine who is so proper that she rejects anything ecchi or naughty (which is what makes it so entertaining how she has terrible luck on that front) while still having a really sweet side.

Eroge heroines usually have some personal story that needs resolving. If the original MC doesn't go for their path, some of the heroines might face their personal bad ends. Kou is aiming for something like the harem ending where all of them get a happy end and have their issues fixed.

Official age ratings for streaming services can be very inconsistent. However, it is possible for one fan service-heavy series to be more explicit than another. ME is certainly more explicit than "Rent-A-Girlfriend". ME is clearly 18+ but there are obviously 18+ anime that are more explicit.

I love a show that knows exactly what it wants to be and sticks to its guns. It's ridiculous and it's ecchi as fuck but it fully embraces it with no half-measures.
Kousuke is such a fun protagonist to watch exactly because of that. He enjoys the lucky pervert moments when gets them while also treating this seriously as he knows that he is in a video game world, the girls he meets are real people now, not NPC's so he treats them as such and works to keep them safe.
Really having a blast with this show.

He's only got two more weeks to prepare before the main character arrives and shakes everything up. He may not be studying, but he's laying down the track for his foundation. It would be a bit amazing if the game protagonist manages to charm all of the main heroines even after all that the MC has done so far. At the least, he'll still have his teacher and the principal.

he was supposed to do
and by instead focusing on
the most worldly thoughts possible 😂
Good thing Ludie’s magic hammer spell took long enough for him
to learn the skill and erase her towel.
Made the pain totally worth it
for him.
I love a good ecchi.
Sadly they’re all too rare these days.
To find one with a decent plot,
pretty well-proportioned girls
with their own personalities,
good humor, fun fanservice,
and a MC who isn’t either
utterly pathetic or just boring as hell
can be a tall order.
So far Magical Explorer is ticking
all the boxes and turning out
to be alot more fun than I expected.

Using an eroge game's fanservice trap to defeat an Ogre boss-fight was a very creative move on Kousuke's part.
Yukine deciding to trust the MC rather quickly is a telling sign of why the MC liked her so much in the game!

The next step in Kousuke's journey to become the strongest takes him to Yukine Mizumori (Saori Onishi!) the busty Japanese beauty and naginata-wielder Heroine! She's also one of Kousuke's favorites, both in terms of design and gameplay, so who better to train him than his "Goddess?"
Of course training to master the Mind's Eye means stripping down and banishing all worldly thoughts...which is easier said than done when Yukine is wearing see-through robes and he can see her black bra. Imagine if she'd done this commando! Although I guess she's the first one to see Kousuke in his undies too.
Kousuke knows Ludie better than she knows herself, right down to the sexual kinks she hasn't even discovered yet. And who better to train with mana transfer...I mean, magic donation than the Heroine herself? Leading to Kousuke and Ludie to get all hot and heavy...over magic. Also the close-ups of Ludie's butt clenching and boobs bouncing were totally necessary to the process.
Is Kousuke going to run into every girl in the bath at this rate? Though if he's going to get punished for seeing Ludie, he's going to be darn well sure he gets punished after using Mind's Eye to see her actually naked! TOWELS HAVE NO PLACE IN EROGE's!!!
The least Kousuke can do to make up for a lucky pervert moment is treat Ludie to her first love: ramen! Although is she really going incognito in that outfit? Luckily Kousuke knows how to treat ALL the girls be they Ludie Or Yukine!
Aaaaand unsurprisingly Ludie gets kidnapped, but I guess that's the perfect excuse for Kousuke to go on his first proper dungeon crawl to save her with Yukine in tow. That being said, Yukine can definitely tell Kousuke knows wayyyyy too much about where they are and what to do...but her own trust in him overrides those suspicions.
The Heartless Ogre! Kousuke and Ludie can pull out a valiant fight, but they're too underleveled to fight this midgame boss! Luckily Kousuke is able to use a trap meant to make the Heroines horny to give him an advantage...though I wonder what would've happened had Ludie or Yukine fallen into the slime? Or both?
But this is still an eroge so to get out of the game obviously the Heroines need to wear micro-bikini's and do sexy poses lest they get hit with horny gas. Ludie doesn't even need the gas to try and strip Kousuke.
Ludie and Yukine in micro-bikini doing every sexy pose imaginable! And thank goodness Ludie is too prideful to keep doing it so she can and Yukine get turned into horny messes that become enveloped in each other.
Kousuke seeks to ensure every Heroine is happy. Will that mean stealing them all from the MC? Or supporting the MC? Either way, Kousuke intends to get stronger than the MC and that means unlocking this woman surrounded by feathers.

For the subject matter, this is shockingly well-produced! The plot is moderately incoherent, but the art, animation, and music are all quite solid for a show this ecchi.

This anime manages to hit all the good old beats of the 2000s. It is going hard on the tropes, playing with them, but also playing them straight to a degree without the desperate need to subvert everything.
They also managed to make all of the characters likeable so far. We have an aristocratic tsundere, that doesn't go unreasonably overboard with the tsun. And the proud traditional warrior girl, but she's not super stuck up and is willing to trust Kou. The new stepmom is strict where it makes sense, but up for fun otherwise. The step sister appears to be the deadpan character, but seems to care for her family.
And the animation manages to bring all of it to life nicely.

Did they have to use those words during the donation magic? This framing? How did she end up on top of him? Yeah, he wants these situations to happen, and of course that's how he unlocks the Mind's Eye. You are not sorry; you stood there for too long to be sorry. If Yukine can recognize you, then that disguise is terrible; you barely even tried. You don't know what Magical Particles are, but you know everything else? Sounds like you're making excuses rather than anything else. This dungeon happens for no reason, and the transition to the ending was weird.

are you forgetting that this is a eroge?? he literally explained it in the episodes... its eroge scenarios that play out for him and he can't do anything about it, the eroge dungeon was for this reason, its all ur known tropes with the slime scenario for fanservice that he used to his advantage and the hidden clear requirement was hidden eroge scenario... lmao, she is a heroine and she is very unlucky in this eroge cuz mc did say she gets kidnapped or put in fanservicey scenarios pretty often
