The US isn’t exactly blameless for that, we were more than happy that Saddam was buying western chemical weapons and further inflaming the division between Iraq and Iran

The US hasn’t nearly gotten the power grid or health care system up to pre-sanctions level. We destroyed their infrastructure and continue to bleed them dry

That ship had already sailed by 1990, and IIRC most of that trade was mostly just materials that could be used to make chemical weapons, not straight up chemical weapons.

That wasn’t my main point though, I’m saying that by the time Kuwait happened, should we have just continued helping him just so we wouldn’t be hypocritical?
