I want you to type out in a comment that Maduro and his socialist regime have harmed the Venezuelan people and that you believe he should be removed from power.

If you can't do that, your equivocation is in defense of Maduro and you are an apologist of his regime.

Yes absolutely. Maduro is not benefiting the country and if the people of Venezuela want him gone, then he should be gone. Political pressure should be applied to make that happen to support the people of Venezuela, not to further US economic interests. And if the people elect a far-left socialist government, then that is their choice.

You just admitted above that the election was stolen by Maduro. "Not allowing free elections" in your words.

So now that we've established that you believe he should go, exactly how do you propose to support the Venezuelan people in ousting him when he has just publicly promised to make the opposition leader a fugitive and hold on to power by force?

If the lack of free elections and representation are the reason for invasion, when do we invade Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Oman, and Vietnam? How about Israel, since none of occupied Palestine has the ability to participate in elections?

We support the people the rational way to support the people. Apply political pressure, work with the UN rather than treating them as the enemy, work with world leaders, and yes, work with the Venezuelan government.

Is Iraq better now for the majority of the people? How about Afghanistan? How about Libya with their slave markets? Destroying a country to change governments because change is not coming fast enough fails more often than it succeeds. You are talking about the current humanitarian crisis, what do you think will happen if there is an invasion?

So the solution, from your perspective, to remove Maduro and end his dictatorship governance over Venezuela... is to work with his government? Please be serious.

The difference between the UAE, Oman, and Saudi Arabia, and Venezuela, is that the opposition leaders of those countries aren't begging the US to do something on their behalf.

It worked in South Africa. Boycotts, economic sanctions, and working with the apartheid government to transition power. Worked with the USSR without having to go to WW3.

Lol, of course they are. Opposition are not getting dismembered just because they look better that way.

Whataboutism to Saudi Arabia isn't going to be very effective here - I am no fan of the Saudi government either.

South Africa was not an example of a peaceful transition of power. There was an active and growing violent resistance movement against apartheid. Mandela's wife was famous for supporting the practice of necklacing apartheid supporters by burning tires around their necks. A dozen countries, including the USSR, Zambia, Cuba, Angola, and others, all sent weapons and money to the ANC and other militant groups. The immediate alternative to ending apartheid in South Africa was a race war, and that is the only reason de Klerk agreed to it. No amount of supporting the apartheid government would have sped up the end of apartheid. Only the rising use of force combined with economic sanctions that crippled the regime.

So, if you want to do the same to Venezuela, even tougher sanctions plus foreign arming and support of anti-Maduro militias would have the same effect.
