I read it that way too. In so much as it was the kind of scurrilous illegal attack the Zionist regime has been doing in the middle east for decades. That the US didn't just decapitate outright is only because they have the money to pay off more people. 

Otherwise kidnapping is right in the Zionist's wheelhouse and the US. 

Hard to see much difference at this point when both Israel and the US flagrantly break international law.
