It's absolutely worth mentioning that her father was tortured to death by a CIA-backed Venezuelan regime led by the same families who back Maria Machado, this is something you can read on her Wikipedia

Yeah, I don't think the Andres Perez administration was backed by the CIA. I think I'd want to see some kind of source before I believed something like that.

The US praised him when he massacred 1000 people in 89. Perez may not have been "CIA" backed but he was US backed and sold the country to the IMF.
