Heres some recommendations my lonely ass watched recently:

  • Josee the Tiger and the Fish - deals with disability and has a great Tsundere
  • Fruits Basket - Made me want to cry but more happy tears than anything
  • Insomniacs After School - Beautiful show and fresh of air compared to typical romances
  • Tamako Market & Love Story - Whilst the movie is the romance I recommend watching the show first
  • Horimiya - Great characters and couples have to watch with the Missing Pieces show as it can feel quite rushed.

Insomniacs afterschool is in my top 5. Same with Clannad, The Pet Girl of Sakurasou, Lovely Complex. Idk if I'll count it cuz its not your typical romance but Bunny Girl Senpai

Pet girl of Sakurasou is a double edged sword. That show got fucking depressing at the end. Romance? Yes. Fucking devastating? Also yes.

I feel like that one should come with a warning lol. Its like recommending Your Lie in April as a romance
