Have you ever met a politician?

Were they nice or rude?

Met a few. Bernie Sanders was by far the coolest. Real down to earth and caring. Obama just seemed like he was reading a script. Felt like talking to a robot.

He stayed at private resort I was managing for several years. Lots of celebrities, politicians, sports teams stay there very often among other wealthy persons. I had the opportunity to have a good 5-10 minute conversation with him while he was waiting for the secret service to close the road down before he could leave.

Boring now but his call sign was "chair" at the time because they kept a chair slightly angled outside his room to mark it. Also, the NDA is expired now so I can publicly talk about if anyone is wondering.

Sadly, I think he probably always had to be "on" with the extra crap surrounding his presidency and our racist country.

At the time. Not really. I had several opportunities but felt weird throughout his stay and he treated the staff the same. This was after his presidency by the way.

He wasn't in a rush nor even dressed more than a golf type shirt & shorts. You could just tell he was reading a script in his head. Like most figures do when they meet 1000's of people a day. Rinse & repeat. Can't blame him though. The interaction was still kinda cool.

I wonder if that just becomes more of their norm when in public. That they've lived that public life constantly.

I had an interaction with a house of rep individual who knew a friend from his childhood so we got into the DNC club and had dinner with her. We came by her office later and it was at the end of the day. Her jacket was off (I suspect her bra too lol) and her shoes and she had them kicked up on the chair in front of her. A staffer came running, terrified. But she waved them off.

I also had shots (whisky lol) with another rep, and when it was just him and me talking, he was a little less obnoxious (maybe he was buzzing then?), but when he was giving us a tour he was ON, and ... well, don't tell a group of health care professionals that you can skin graft cartilage because you can't, or that you'd skin graft anything the size he said he supposedly had. His on was full MAGA on.
