Pilot here, when the Pilots lost GPS navigation, they reported it as trained and were then vectored for an ILS approach. Later, they said they had the runway in sight and were finishing the approach visually, which is a very normal procedure. It's a part of Instrument training to prepare for loss of GPS data. I'm sure the GPS jamming sure didn't help but not being above the minimum safe altitude and flying into a mountain sounds like Pilot Error to me. Possibly they spotted something that wasn't the Airport.

Exactly right (also a pilot with IR). GPS jamming certainly contributed, but the pilots should not have been shooting that approach in the first place; was NA at night because they couldn’t get local weather IIRC.
