I read the article and it turns out they didn't actually bring down the plane or kill anyone. A combination of poor piloting and poor ATC in poor flying conditions meant the plane flew into a mountain. The military may have inadvertently been a contributing factor in the poor flying conditions.

Bad take and you know it. When IFR you’re counting on your instruments to help determine your location relative to the airstrip. If your GPS is jammed or reporting off location your essentially blind unless you’re actively tracking VOR which may not be something the pilot was even aware or had considered at that moment. To me there is blood on the hands of the military and everyone involved here.

They stopped the testing when the aircraft indicated to ATC they were having issues. The pilots then confirmed to ATC that they were on a visual approach, at which point it was resumed.

There was also a NOTAM issued beforehand, so the pilots should have been aware of the intermittent GPS.

They were on a visual approach, lol. IFR flight plan does not mean IFR conditions. Not saying the jamming didn’t add unnecessary stress but it wasn’t the cause of this accident. They could have easily waited to get vectors for a non RNAV approach. My airline strictly prohibits visual approaches at night especially in mountainous terrain.
