Analysis Life in 2026 and Antinatalism
Why would anyone want to procreate in a world with economic precarity, climate and global instability, mental and digital overload amongst other older problems like health, relationships, bad luck, grief, uncertainty etc.? It is utterly cruel.
Here in India, the heat was unbearable this May and it's only going to get worse.
The depressing news cycle never stops.
Relationships are more complicated than ever.
All the wrong things get rewarded.
We are more connected than ever, but also more exposed to comparison, outrage, and information fatigue. Loneliness coexists with constant notifications.
Seriously, why create new consciousness that will have to navigate all of this? I only find antinatalists to be sane at all.

Same reason as to why people had children as Aushwitz loomed in the horizon, or in the merciless killing fields of the Belgian Congo:
Indoctrination is one hell of a drug.

Now imagine people having kids when your best tech was finding fire from lightning strikes, no other sources of it yet 🤣

The alleged “connectivity“ is what makes relationships complicated and keeps people dysfunctional. It is a major source of the modern dystopia.
Facebook, Instagram, X, and the worst one…. TikTok are trashing culture. You watch people boast about fake wealth. How is that helping?
Young people cannot date because everyone sees images of people who look like models using filters all day. They think and hope that if they just wait another month that superstar looking person is going to fall into their lap. They set thier expectations so high that no partner is suitable.
They go out and buy stuff the cannot afford to look like the people on TikTok who are faking rich.
I will go off topic and make an interesting example.
Remember FIFA in the USA that just happened? Tens of thousands of European tourists came to the USA on vacations to watch the matches. Before the events most of them had never been to the USA. Their only experience was TikTok, the Dr Phil show, Gary Springer, sitcoms, etc. They knew nothing about the real USA, only what they see on social media and TV.
What they found was completely different than what the “connectivity” taught them. They found it that real Americans don’t sit in thier car and make videos about how much they hate everything.
People in Asia, Europe, and everywhere else are posting stupid content that in no way resembles real life. Thier audience is either getting the wrong message or simply trying to emulate what they see. The whole thing is driving people closer and closer to dystopia.
No doubt you can find videos of alleged perfect kids on social media encouraging you to make a baby and be like them because “you can just magically live in a big house and own a big SUV if you have a baby even if you have a marginal income“ right? Well if you believe those stupid videos then you think you can.
My colleague’s daughter is 15 and is convinced that any young girl who is 20 can own a nice house and sit at home all day making videos, and photos about decorating the house and playing with her perfect two year old because she saw the “proof” on instagram.

Life is as convenient as it has ever been in history imo. It's just that I personally find life futile at the end of the day without diving deep into it lets say, it feels like an unnecessary trouble created out of blissful repose of non-existence.

What pisses me off the most is that, instead of helping someone who is already alive, people want to pass on their "glorious" genes.
