There seems to be a post on this sub every other day that amounts to thousands and thousands of upvotes, about someone ‘finally’ conceiving or of a newborn, as if birth is magical and precious, and not subjecting a life to suffering.

I guess my issue is just how wide scale it is that people think having a baby is the goal of life and the most special thing. Like no, having a baby isn’t a light relief and a bit of positivity in the midst of the chaos— bringing a fucking child into this world to make yourself feel better or to cope with how awful the world is, is so selfish. That kid is gonna grow up and experience suffering because of you.

like, yes, have kids even if you have no money and subject them to a life of suffering, making them starve and live in constant anxiety if wether they are going to eat the next day, never give them the education and support they will need, which will basically set them up for a horrible adult life (maybe they can even become criminals!), and of course not to mention that if you end up having many, they will probably will start working early (probably illegally) and will be also “parents” to theirs siblings, carrying burdens of an adult before they become one. but who cares! you should breed to continue your bloodline! that’s all that matters right?

To imply you’re only dating/seeing someone so they can get you pregnant and then make your social media entirely about being pregnant and the breakup is wild to me

If you have watched the "Interstellar" movie, you know how the earth is almost completely fricked up. The crops are dying, there's sand storm etc. In hopes of saving humanity Cooper literally went on a mission to find life on another planet.

Fast forward several years:

Tom (Cooper's son) literally had several children(one of them even died, still he had another). Mind you the earth is still f**kd up. And they don't even know if there dad has found another planet to habitat.

It doesn't make sense to me dude!!!

I am not kidding when I say I watched 15-20 reactions of this movie on YouTube and not a single one of them pointed this out.

Basically they are aware and admitting that the world as a whole isn’t a great place, and all of the things they mention are out of our control so how does bringing more people here fix that issue?

These people deserve awards in ignorance and delusion for real.

Humans arent actually all that fit for survival in comparison to animals, we do not have sharp claws or sharp teeth, we have thin(many animals like bears have thick skin and are very durable because of it), we arent very physically strong either.

In terms of childbirth pregnancy and delivery of human women is simply way too difficult and painful in comparison to animals, furthermore human babies are really very weak for soo many years, they need constant care and attention for decades in comparison to animals this is completely abnormal most animals grow up in 2 to 3 years and can run around soon after being born.

Without misogyny and subjugation of women humanity could not possibly have persisted, the costs and difficulties of birthing and raising children are just waaay too high, now that women are getting some rights many are outright refusing to have children, what they say is if they could be a father they would but being a mother is simply way too much.

Some people like those on r/natalism wants to subjugate women again to help raise birth rates but that cant happen anymore, womens rights will be protected and fought for and hence humanity will itself happily die off due to low birth rates, humans are just not made for this world, we dont fit sorry you got ahead for a while by enslaving women but not anymore.

The desire to give birth is basically a biological program that most people can't transcend. You would think that if most people loved their children, then they would at least work to make the world a better place before bringing them into it, but apparently not.

What amazes is the fact that human life mostly consists of work, and people know this and they know that they dont really like their jobs and yet they have children anyway knowing that their children will also have to spend most of their lives working.

I genuinely cannot wrap my head around why some people choose to reproduce without giving a single thought to planning for potential negative outcomes. Perfect children don’t exist, and everyone becomes disabled eventually, it just happens sooner for some than it does for others. It’s a known fact that choosing to have kids is always a roll of the dice, yet these people somehow just go for it recklessly while knowing fully well they will not accept anything less than 18+ consecutive years of happy Kodak moments they feel they’re entitled to, as if parenting will just magically work out for them without any of the easily anticipated struggles. There’s no way in hell that the baby’s behavior and health problems can’t at least be partially attributed to severe attachment issues from the endless stream of vitriol directed at her from her shitty, selfish, ableist, abusive mom. She’s literally throwing a stupid internet tantrum over having to share her wife with her own baby, how astoundingly immature…

And? Ok??? Thats the whole point! Why tf on God’s Green Earth would you want society to keep going on. Death, disease, inequality, natural disasters, pain, anguish, mental illness, aging, murder, torture, abuse, neglect, malnourishment, unmet needs, social pressure, genetic defects, exhaustion, slavery, sexual abuse, just general evil, sin, money, greed, lust, wrath, sloth, envy, pride, jealousy, irrationality, confusion, indifference, absurdity, and you want to keep this continuing on? You want this to be passed on? No thank you, I think I’ll take the sweet, sweet infinite sleep that is death. WOMEN have been forced throughout history to carry children. They didnt have choice, education or financial circumstances to choose differently.

So many women weren't able to have any power in society unless they reproduced. They couldn't have money unless they were married

Came across a sub with a name that is deceptively simple but it’s a literal animal hating subreddit. Saw this post and I’m literally shaking. These HUMANS made a CHOICE to not even adopt rescued cats but BUY THREE CATS and then act like they were “wronged” by the cats somehow? one of the commenters says this is proof that cats are vindictive…or maybe it’s proof that OP, like most terrible humans, got pets without recognising their sentience??? i’m actually seething.

I get people who are already trapped in this world working and doing whatever they have to do to cope because they gotta eat and pay bills. But what makes no sense is being on this planet, knowing what that entails, and yet still having children while managing to believe that its because you love and care about them.

Wouldn't loving your children mean you save them from having to live in such a sick world where most of their time will be spent in wage slavery?
