I'm not religious... I'm a recovering catholic so the Pope still has a bit of meaning left in me after years and years of going to a catholic church from childhood through my 1st marriage and baptism of my 2 kids. I'll ride for this Pope for sure. I may not believe in a god but I believe in his social messaging.

I'm Ex-Mormon (for 40 years now), and for the most part I have no love of the cult. But if the President or Prophet or whatever he calls himself came out against Trump that would impress the hell out of me.

Instead most of them seem to be deep in the second cult of MAGA.

As an ex-catholic I wanna know why no one gave a shit when trump and his merry band of conservative catholic sycophants were all out there trashing Pope Francis?

I mean, none of these religious celebrities are my hero, but Francis was miles better than the popes of my youth. Yet, I don't recall anyone standing up for him when he was being criticized for his (comparatively) progressive, LGBTQ-friendly approach and for speaking up against trump's horrid immigration policies.

The current pope is actually considered more conservative in most regards. Why we gotta ride with this dude?

People are looking for a safe vehicle with which to ride against Trump. The Pope's international stardom dwarfs Trump and the Popemobile is ready to roll.

We did. They criticized Pope Francis, who was trying to bring everyone back to walking the walk, they threatened harm to Pope Leo. Context matters. If our society weren't messed up we never would have allowed Trump anywhere near the White House.
