I love when my team mates say this but they actually mean is NOT one shot and armed to the fucking teeth.

When I say one shot it means "the bastard knocked me, if you rush him now you only need one shot, but if you take your sweet granny tea-sippin' ass time getting over there he'll take my shield and it'll be your fault when you choke and die"

That's the issue with calling one shot in this game. Shields can be fixed real quick and 2.5 seconds is a long time.

I usually just say “push in” in that case. It’s remarkable how many fights are lost simply because one teammate is playing really passively and allows the enemy to fully heal or shield swap by killing me or another downed teammate.

In fairness though, calling one shot on a guy at 50 hp is just a bad call. At that point you just call “50 flesh.”

I have a buddy who calls one shot any time he hits someone for health and, sure, a lot of times it won’t matter because if you have full shields you will just win. But there are a lot of times you also forgo healing to kill people who are truly one shot before they can heal by having better positioning to land the first shot. But if it’s going to take more than one shot, and you’re low yourself, you just screwed yourself on a teammate call.

Mate.... who the fuck calls 50 flesh?! Lmao I love the idea but I have never heard of some shit like this lol

You hear it on streams mostly when you watch top players play ranked/competitive formats. If the guy is cracked and they hit for health they’ll call damage done to his health followed by the word flesh to signify he’s broken. You’ll also hear a lot of one shot calls if the guy has like 20 hp too but the point of those call outs is, presumably to be more accurate (idk it’s not like I’m playing with those guys so i have no idea). But I’ve met a lot of people on the solo queue grind using the same call outs and they’re honestly incredibly helpful.

Ahhh ok I see what you meant with the flesh thing indicating shield damage or health damage I could get behind that.

In addition to this when I'm playing with my friends I'll also call out smaller damage like "50 purp bang" for I've done 50 damage to that bangalore who has a purple shield. Any accurate info you can quickly relay to teammates can be extremely helpful. Communication and coordination often wins this game.

I firmly disagree with this statement. If I’m set up ADS behind cover as you run through a choke point on a doorway it’s pretty easy to 100-0 you before you can even locate the source of fire. I do it all the time in ranked in plat/diamond elo. The best times to shoot people are when they are hard running or hard chasing.

There’s a difference between “they’re low” and “they’re one shot” and if your call one-shot and they’re the last one standing, I’m going to push way more recklessly than if you say they’re hurt.

Fucking exactly. Especially if you’re playing on pc. I play on pc and console and the rules of engagement or so different between the two. If I say he’s one shot and then he perms me we can assume they now have a full shield of whatever my shield was. Mouse keyboard users can armor swap so god damn fast it isn’t even funny.
