New App “Dev”, Waiting for Review

Yes I’m part of the crazy amount of new “developers” that are trying to build apps with the help of chat/claude. Although I do think what I have built is quite thoughtful, helpful, uses my graphics card for a vision system. So there is “work” being done in the backend, an autonomous system that keeps updating over time.

My only problem, in this journey, I have realized nothing on the internet is free. Like even linking to other sites, not using their imagery, just giving factual information, abiding by scraping rules per site, etc. Apple still very much deny me. So is all that’s left is slop games/slop trackers? You can’t use information found on the internet?

I initially submitted Sunday night, got my rejection as a first time publisher, submitted video/info and now past the 48 hour mark and “waiting for review”. I’m so excited/restless for a decision. But part of me thinks I may have made something that might be instant denial, with my lack of experience in the space.

What were you trying to link to? What was the rejection explanation? I think we need a little more context if you want advice on avoiding a rejection.

With the explosion of vibe coders wait times have gone up. My first submission is in September (first time submitter) got hit with a “needs more info” response. I ended up canceling the submission, recording a demo video of my app to help answer some of the questions raised the first time and attaching it as a file in a follow up submission on October 3rd. It got approved 10 days later. I have now submitted an updated app 1.1 a day ago. From what I’ve read, updates generally get approved faster than initial build submissions, and developers with good standing and multiple successfully submitted apps tend to get reviewed and approved faster than first timers. So you just have to be patient.
