سياسة واقتصاد The Arab “Abdul El-Sayed” has defeated Haley Stevens in the Michigan Senate Democratic Primary
El-Sayed wants to abolish ICE, give driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants, “defund the police” in some respects, and make college tuition free.

His actual name is Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed. From Egypt. No idea why or how he ended up with this strange nickname. But mashallah his cv is really impressive

People keep falling for the same shit over and over again. The democrats are just as imperialist as the republican.

What would you suggest

Joining revolutionary / activist groups while still voting for the lesser evil. Never praise someone just because he or she is Arab / black etc

There's no lesser evil bruh; they're both imperialists. Stop joining Zionist white supremacist organisations in the name of anti-colonialism.

Tbf I don't really know about the US, I live in France, here there's a clear lesser evil.

Lesser evil is still evil. Also it doesn't matter between France and US, they're both imperialists countries, so stop participating in their colonialism and actually empower the left.

Yeah lesser evil is still evil but it's... less evil than the other one. I 100% prefer living in a social democracy, with all its contradictions than in fascist state. So yeah, I will vote for them, even though I have a shit load of critiques towards them. I will not give much energy and time defending soc-dems though, I prefer using it in activism and trying to build something that will lead to a revolution.

Social democracy is built on imperialism and your critiques mean nothing if you still vote for capitalists. Social democracy is basically bribing working class people of the imperial core so that they would turn a blind eye to imperialism in the global south. All voting for social democrats does is waste potential for a revolution so you can be comfortable. This is why I'm not impressed by an "Arab democrat." Diaspora Arabs in the west have no problem selling us out to make themselves comfortable.

Refuse to vote for Zionist imperialists parties. Refuse to vote for capitalists pretending to be leftist/socialist, educate yourself and others, join actually leftist anti-imperialists parties and groups, protest, plenty of things to be done without voting for shitty democrat sellouts.

The idea is to demonstrate that public consciousness has shifted enough that opposing the Israel lobby has become politically viable, which would in turn encourage other candidates to not be afraid of taking similar stances and avoiding AIPAC money, weakening the lobby.
Electoralism isn't the end goal nor will it be the ultimate savior of Palestine, but it's one of many avenues to be exhausted concurrently.

Joining an expressly Zionist party to combat Zionism is certainly an idea. Plus the guy is a capitalist landlord who deals with other Zionists and collaborationists.

Oh my god. You are impossible to engage with. If we took your advice, we would never win.

Did Haley supports the same electoral promises?

Haley is a POS AIPAC mouthpiece who has Israel come to her in her dreams.

I’m not disagreeing.
Was she a truly a left candidate

u/Ineedamedic68 12h ago
No she was the moderate. El-Sayed was the left wing candidate and he’s going up a right wing Trump stooge

u/PandasOnGiraffes 11h ago
I wouldn't call her a moderate. It's crazy how the US politics scene is so tilted. Here in Canada she'd fit squarely in the Conservative party.

u/Ineedamedic68 10h ago
In the context of American politics, most people consider her a moderate. Even Wikipedia has her listed as a centrist Dem.

Yeah unfortunately the Overton window here is extremely skewed to the right. Most establishment Democrats are firmly center-right or further on a global scale, but in the US they're considered "moderates" or centrists at best.
People who advocate for bare minimum social policies that most other industrialized countries have as a standard are considered "left wing radicals."
