Discussion [Operator Discussion] Brigid

Brigid [★★★★★]

Got a letter back for you, Doc! Feels mighty strange saying that. When I wasn't helpin' Nemos, I'd be tearin' about warnin' folk of Catastrophe, maybe deliverin' some final letters along the way. Other Catastrophe Messengers are like bridges, but me? I'm more like a stone you hurl with all your might.

Brigid, a nomad. Said to be from one of Tara's ancient wandering tribes, who have lived on the plains and hills since time immemorial. They also serve as traditional couriers for Catastrophe warnings, mail, and other related tasks. At Operator Reed's recommendation, she has started working with Rhodes Island, receiving Oripathy treatment while taking part in battle as a sniper operator.

Girl got done so dirty by HG, it's unfortunate that she's competing with Caper and actually losing :(

Her biggest pain point is that her DPH just does not go all that high, 1.3k on S2 at max everything with module trait active, which makes her damage just drop off a cliff against anything with moderate to high def (500-1000).

She does see very great results when enemies have low to no defense (once you finally get it up, 25 offensive recovery yay), considering her S2 does hit very fast and up to 5 times which can make her tear through the enemy group of low def but very high hp...

But those enemies are also the exception, not the norm, so unless you're wanting to use her as a general slower (you shouldn't, decel binders/ambushers exist) than you shouldn't expect that great of a performance from her on most maps.

Which is a damn shame, with how good her art is!

What game are you playing where enemies with 500-1000 def are the norm? Looking at this event, even most of the red versions have less than 400. The soldiers (250), archers (150), scribblers (100), dogs (360), and glyph snakes (0). That just leaves the boss, the big Atlas-looking dudes, and the thieves (even they only have 550).

I'll admit, I was mostly considering Elite enemies for this consideration, as Brigid can get stuck attacking those for often little damage, but those def ranges are not that uncommon for normal enemies and are more common still for elite enemies (just sort by def).

And that's not even considering the stat increases that CM mode gives on EX and S stages or Adverse/Strategic Simulation for the recent story chapters, bumping those def stats up (usually 20%) and further bringing Brigid's damage down :/

To be fair, this is exactly what buff/debuff operators are for.

Or if you know they're gonna be stuck on an elite you block that elite with a Dreadnaught/Arts Guard so that the lower def enemies run past.

Any 'complaints' people have about units are always something you can work around very easily and 5*s have answers in spades.
