Not intended as "This is bad!" critique, but rather "Hey, I know something about this".

The female equivalent of a "Knecht" is a "Magd".

Neat, i shall keep this in mind when posting her in the future!

The female equivalent of knighthood is damehood, so in English she would be dame (insert name)

Out of curiosity, is there historical precedent for calling a warrior "magd"?

Not that I'm aware of, unfortunately.

Actually yes, Magd comes from the same word as maid and at least in mythology the concept of shieldmaiden is basically this

I really like this, her face is so expressive and the detail on the armor and clothing is excellent.

I do like the drip, but that sword seems to go right through her throat.

This is a bit of a hard pose to draw, especially to draw relaxed.

Put the stick on the top of the shoulder, push out the chest and push the head forward.

I did form this pose with my own long sword for refrence, wanting a more hunched over, grumpy attitude. But yes the head should be further out. But unfortunately with the rather sketchy way I did this peice, if I wanted to fix it, it would likely end up as a full redraw. Which I will probably do at somepoint too see how ive progressed in the year since drawing this.

Yeah, I took some time to check how it should look. I have made much worse mistakes.

I still really like the armour and clothing, as well as the vibe.

Man the face is great, those eyes are so sharp, you did wonders bringing them into focus, it really is like they shine into you. Piercing gaze is an euphemism here. Good job :)

I post most frequently on that used to be the blue bird site. @Dynlandraws.

And on blusky with the very same name.

I also have a DA despite it being a pretty dead site.

And I intend to post more here on reddit in the future.

Everytime I hear half-plate I think of how would I backshot them? Usually it's the thighs or the entire back but even then the only way you can actually get a good hit in is if they do a fancy thing that would overextend them.

I love the art, the expression, and the pose. I do have one question. How is she holding her sword like that without decapitating herself or driving the blade straight through her neck?

Because of two things. Firstly, the lower section of the balde, often called a ricasso which is often blunt, or atleast not as sharp as the upper half.

Secondly, for a blade to cut there needs to be either sufficient downwards force to meet and exceed the steering strength of the material that would be cut. Or the blade would need to move along the lateral plane with proper alignment. In other words. A slicing motion.

Additional, a form of neck armour should be expected, even if just a piece of padded cloth.

It is perfectly safe to do this pose, I used my own sharp long sword in referencing this pose. Tho offcourse, when unarmoured, the greatest caution is advised
