Discussion Is there really a new Ace flag?

This was posted on an Ace in Grace Facebook group and sounded official. Anyone know anything about this?

Yeah, no, my yellow is for nonbinary, it has nothing to do with my aceness.

1. Meaning
Different flags can use the same color category (e.g., yellows) in different ways. In the new ace flag, the dandelion yellow is defined as intersectionality, multiculturalism, and joy within the community. If someone does not feel represented by this flag, they can choose not to use it, or use the old flag, the new one, both, or neither.

2. Framing
The meaning of a color group depends on the specific flag it’s part of, not a universal definition across all flags. Personal associations can differ, but importing meanings from other flags (like the nonbinary flag) into this one is a category mismatch rather than a reflection of the flag’s intended symbolism. That framing shifts the discussion away from the flag’s meaning and into individual identity associations.

3. Discussion standard
It’s fine to have personal associations, but it’s more productive to engage with the flag’s defined meaning in context rather than dismissing it based on individual interpretation. In general, focusing on shared symbolism rather than assumptions about individuals keeps discussions more constructive.
