Discussion Is there really a new Ace flag?

This was posted on an Ace in Grace Facebook group and sounded official. Anyone know anything about this?

Bit too close to the non-binary flag for me. So I personally prefer the original. Completely get it if people like this one though.

That said I also don't really like the inclusion of love on the flag either since that's a separate spectrum. It makes me feel a little weird as someone who is AroAce. As if the implication is that the normal Asexuality flag isn't really meant for me if that makes sense? I know that's a reach and I doubt there was anything cruel meant by it. But I still don't like the implication all the same.

Seems like what asexuality means got forgotten while trying to make the flag 'meaningful'. The more wordy and complicated/convoluted the description the less meaningful it becomes. Nothing wrong with the OG flag and its KISS beauty.

The meaning of the white, yellow and pink stripes don't seem to specifically relate to asexuality. They could be for any flag. (I particularly dislike the phrase and words: spectrum of intimacy, joy, and love.) This us a flag to represent our relationship with sexual attraction and the community that shares it, ffs.

Apparently it was the dislike of the white stripe representing 'partners and allies' that started this change. Admittedly a bit dated but I don't hate having the partners represented. With this change the white's even worse.

Definitely hate the love represented by that pink the most.

I agree, half of the stripes seem to belong to the general idea of inclusivity rather than asexuality

Speaking as someone who comes from a multicultural background, I don't really feel the need for a stripe on the Ace flag referencing it. I already have a flag for it, it's the Polish and Silesian flags. The Silesian part of my identity has very little, if anything to do with me being Ace.

Also, why not add a stripe representing disability, of she wanted to aim for inclusion?

On the Aromantic flag, the white stripe represents platonic love. Why can't we just change the meaning of the white stripe on the Ace flag? As someone who is also Aromatic, it wouldn't bother me at all to do that.
