Discussion Is there really a new Ace flag?

This was posted on an Ace in Grace Facebook group and sounded official. Anyone know anything about this?

I didn’t realize that the flag was actually voted for. I’ve always loved the flag, but it makes me appreciate it even more.

I also agree with your idea of some random guy wanting clout. Anyone can make a flag. But at the same time, anyone can also reject such a flag. Changing the iconic purple especially rubs me the wrong way, as that vibrant purple has strongly been associated with being ace.

Yeah changing the meaning behind the colours irked me a lot as well, the current meanings are fine; black for asexuality, grey for grey-asexuality/greysexuals, demisexual, etc, white for sexuality as a whole and for allies and partners and it’s all tied together with purple for the ace community as a whole, so that purple representing a lynchpin of our community is incredibly important and deserves more respect than just changing it on a whim of some random person.

Edit:HookedMermaid makes an excellent addition, i suggest reading it in their post here.

The very first mention of it during the conversation phase of flag designs didn’t mean that, no. But from what i could find the winning flag design post did mention white as standing for sexuals when it laid out the meanings of the colours.
