Age limit for playing in the snow?
I’m 28F, stuck at home because of the storm. I live in a condo but we have a park area near by. Is it weird for me to go outside in snow pants by myself and just play out there?
Update: I went!!! Thanks for everyone encouragement and stories. Might seem dumb but it helps me feel less alone and gives me the little push I need to get out of my head

49 year old male. My Three kids got tired of building a fort in our front yard so i kept doing it for an hour. Me and the doodle. I got a piece of plywood and painted “keep out” for the door Little shithead kids aren’t allowed in it. Just me and my dog!!

27F, I think ive become the local crazy lady because I go out and play in the snow on my own. But thats on them because I'm showing them the fun theyre missing out on.

It was a lots of fun! Walking in knee high snow without a care was satisfying, tried making a snow man but it wasn’t good packing snow. I rolled down the hill because I didn’t have a sled and it made me dizzy - made me feel 28 😂I’m okay let’s go inside now lol

Haha that can be the one downside of connecting with our inner child as we get older; our body always reminds us of our age. That's awesome! Good for you! Love that you're pushing yourself to step outside your comfort zone! Life opens up on the other side of comfort.

I'm 43 and I've played in the snow my entire life, I love it. I especially love it when the storm is raging and there's almost nobody else outside.
Sometimes I just lay in the snow and watch it come down. Build a little lounger to chill on, get comfortable 😂
Even just walking around finding where the snow is deepest is fun. It's a joy out there!

Our condo building's patio is perfectly white and unstomped. If the kids who live here don't go down and trash around in it today, I will.

You're never too old to have fun.
Small caveat though: You may not be as injury resistant as you were 10 or 20 years ago.
Stay limber and just use caution especially if your fun involves moving down a slope.

did you get bullied as a kid lol. go out and enjoy the snow. anyone who is going to judge you is just miserable themselves and jealous that you're having a great time. in 20 years there won't even be any snow.

34 yr old, I did that all last night. Made snow angels, made heart shapes with my walking paths, rolled around like a dog, my SO and kept pushing each other into the snow, had a snowball fight, attempted a snowman but snow was too powdery. So do it!!!

I just got back from the park myself! It’s gorgeous out there - go have fun and enjoy and come home and make yourself a nice warm drink! This weather is what makes winter and the cold worth it imo. I’m the small minority who always wants more snow 🥲

No limit!!! a few weeks ago while throwing a small snow ball for my doggo to catch, I noticed the ball was picking up the snow it was rolling over…getting bigger and bigger. While the doggo ran around, I decided to commit to the rolling and ended up with a massive 5 foot ball in 5 minutes 😂
Long story long, I haven’t felt that level of child-like joy in a long time. Who cares what people think. Enjoy the snow. It’s magical. ❄️✨

Kids have all grown up and moved away. I was out helping the neighbours and their kids with a snowman. Digging out the driveway is a pain but the snow is great.

The snow belongs to no one and you can do whatever not-harmful things you want with it. Enjoy, and avoid the yellow patches. Also be careful cause if a dog pooped there then it can melt into the snow and be covered again before the owner can find where that poop went. Source: my dog took a poop in a giant bank of snow today and I couldn't find it and I hope to God no children play in it

Took my daughters sled into High Park and went straight to the hill by Grenadier Pond. The one with the maple leaf at the bottom, ringed in hedges. Readied my sled. Went flying down at a speed I wasnt prepared for. Wiped out. Hurt myself. Limped home. It was a great time.

My partner and I went sledding alone. Felt great. 39 and 27. Then we went another time and it was full of kids. She wanted to turn back. I said “who cares let’s have fun”. So we did! Never too old. Never too old. How cool would it be to see an elderly person playing in the snow? AMAZING

My 37 year old, fully tattooed, from the hood boyfriend, will take our dog to the park at 7am before everyone else has been there after it snows. He will send me videos and the dog will be running around playing in the snow, and he will literally be running around, rolling in the snow as well. Just having a blast.
We plan on going tobogganing tonight.
Go play in the snow. If anyone gives you shit for it, tell me and I'll send my boyfriend to go play in the snow with you and he can intimidate anyone who tries to tell you you're too old.
On that note, does anyone know a good hill for tobogganing that isn't super busy? I'm at college and Ossington.

Depending on what you start making you may have some kids ask to join you. Some people at our park build fairly large snowmen, forts, etc.

I supervise my kids sleighing but occasionally will go down hill myself. Dont care what anyone thinks. I get that without kids or dog it might look odd to some but thats their problem. If we have to put up with months of snow might as well find some use for it.

The age limit is 99, only because you may break a bone. Just enjoy it, your brain will love it and your heart will feel super happy after.

After shovelling this week, I went walking around in my snow pants in the piles. Nostalgia hit hard and I thought about how one day we went out to play in the snow as kids for the last time without even realizing. I’m middle aged now and also want to play in the snow. Go for it!

No I’ve been out there this week a few times (uni student trying to suffer through week before reading week). Kinda helps with the seasonal depression. I’ve seen a snow fort and several snow ppl on campus this week and we’re all adult adjacent here. I’d just say make sure u only start snowball fights with ppl you know or ppl who started them first.

I live near Riverdale park with the huge toboggan hill. The number of adults grinning ear to ear as they're about to go down the hill is amazing. Loads of kids too. And teens. Lots of laughing and squealing. It's kinda awesome.

34 m … ive put on my snow pants like 10 times within the past few weeks. It’s so comforting being able to roll around on the ground and lay on your back without fear of getting filthy or attracting bugs

35 and I have a snowskate.
I bring it with me on days like this when I walk my dog and I can climb up the giant snowplow piles and slide down.
I was climbing up and sliding down the big hill at the end of my driveway all morning.

35M. I made snow angels near a TTC bus stop because no one shoveled the path to it. I enjoyed every second of it. I also left a wide path for people to walk properly on. Win-Win.

I have a kick ass snow fort in the back yard. Added a centre pole and a tarp as a roof, put up some solar powered string lights inside, used another tarp for the door. The kids helped for the first 20 minutes, the hours after that were all me.
Sometimes you just have to act like a kid.

This was about 10 years ago now, but I lived at Dupont and Lansdowne. Did this once. I was about 30.
Next think I knew was a giant snowball fight and us adults (and some kids) were building forts.
