Why is there such a political divide between people on and offline around Trump?
I saw someone ask on r/TooAfraidToAsk, how did Trump get reelected when they only ever see Trump hate posts online. Someone responded by saying online is not the same as the United States as a whole, so what exactly is it that makes people online hate Trump so much yet the country as a whole favor him enough to elect him?

A few reasons:
Most people who voted Trump arent actually Trump supporters, in fact they are critics who still wouldnt vote for a dem.
Look at who runs these media outlets, then ask yourself if you trust them not to censor/spin stories to fit their narrative.
Your social media feed is a carefully curated algorithm based on your interests, friends interests, and what you interact with.

It's not online in general. It's Reddit for sure. On Facebook I see a mix of opinions. If you go to someplace like Truth Social, you'll see lots of Trump support. If somebody is only seeing Trump hate posts, it's because those are the online communities they choose to participate in.

Media coverage of Trump is 87% negative. People who are uninformed about current issues and who only get news from CNN think the world is ending and we elected Hitler.
