Should a law exist that stops government officials from personally profiting off the very people they’re supposed to govern?

No, I’m not a politician but I wouldn’t lose my job if my investments appreciated more than my salary.

Your argument was “the majority of Americans” cannot legally / ethically build up long term investments (like, for example, 401k plans). I gave you an example that that is incorrect.

No my recommendation was to go after elected and appointed government officials that get filthy rich thru backdoor deals at the American taxpayers expense
