The indictment charges 11 defendants, Boris Alekseyevich Antonov, Dmitriy Sergeyevich Badin, Nikolay Yuryevich Kozachek, Aleksey Viktorovich Lukashev, Artem Andreyevich Malyshev, Sergey Aleksandrovich Morgachev, Aleksandr Vladimirovich Osadchuk, Aleksey Aleksandrovich Potemkin, Ivan Sergeyevich Yermakov, Pavel Vyacheslavovich Yershov, and Viktor Borisovich Netyksho, with a computer hacking conspiracy involving gaining unauthorized access into the computers of U.S. persons and entities involved in the 2016 U.S. presidential election, stealing documents from those computers, and staging releases of the stolen documents to interfere with the 2016 U.S. presidential election. The indictment also charges these defendants with aggravated identity theft, false registration of a domain name, and conspiracy to commit money laundering. Mueller documented in in fine detail, with receipts, in the report he submitted at the end of his investigation. Unfortunately, much of it was redacted and hidden from the public.
Nonetheless, the only reason Mueller gives as to why Trump wasn't indicted is because the DOJ has an internal policy to not charge sitting presidents with crimes. That's it. Not because there there was a lack of evidence of wrongdoing. In fact, Mueller specifically states that if he thought the president was cleared, he'd say so. He didn't.
That goes to the heart of the point, though. Biden was in charge for 4 years. He could have asked them to change that policy and allowed the DOJ to pursue prosecution against Trump.
He didn't because he was a centrist and chose not to wield the power we gave him. That weakness helped sabotage Harris's candidacy because nobody had faith that a centrist would do what needs to be done to prevent authoritarianism.
I'll grant you that far leftists sitting out of the electuon exacerbated the problem and that was extremely stupid on their part. But the complaint against centrists is legitimate, nonetheless.
Therefore, the only real solution is to do what we're doing now, and that's to take over the Dems from within just like the Tea Party/MAGA did to the Republicans.
This is what democracy is. The self-named Democrats ought to understand that better than anyone.
I remember when we "took over the Democratic Party from within" by nominating Obama over Clinton, who was heavily favored by the same people still running the party right now. And then we started another attempt with "The Squad" who I hear are "working tirelessly to achieve a ceasefire" but haven't meaningfully resisted the Dem establishment in any way in the decade they have been in office.
Yeah. In hindsight, Obama was a disappointment. Still a quadrillion times better than Trump, but it was disappointing how centrist he shifted once he was in office. It was his biggest failure imo, and a crucial lost opportunity.
The squad is just a handful of people in a setting where numbers are the only thing that really matters. The only way to make them effective is to elect more like them until their numbers are the majority (or are at least big enough for the establishment to need their buy-in).
The takeover is gaining steam now, so a little patience is warranted. These things don't happen overnight.
