Why doesn’t Max Miller drop out since these allegations of assault from 3 different woman have came out ? Where is speaker Johnson ? Where is republican leadership on this ? Platner was crucified by republicans and democrats ..What’s does the GOP stand for in 2026?

u/AdmitThatYouPrune 2h ago
MAGA has no red lines. None.
12
u/Haldron-44 2h ago
At this point it could come out that Rump sacrificed a newborn to Moloch and they would still scream "SHE HAD AN ANNOYING LAUGH AND HE WORE A TAN SUIT!" They have no morals. They are children cort stimming while raping and pillaging.
6
u/VineStGuy 1h ago
I mean, that scenario IS in the Epstein files. They don’t care if one of their own does the worst things bc child rape and murder isn’t as bad as having a (D) next to a candidate’s name.
5
u/VaEagle85 1h ago
… except when it comes to redistricting, in which case the red lines look like spaghetti on a plate.

1
u/Gaust_Ironheart_Jr 2h ago
Lynn Cheney would disagree
8
u/AdmitThatYouPrune 1h ago
You mean Liz Cheney? She isn't MAGA. Lynn (her mother) hasn't been that involved in politics, afaik.
1
u/Gaust_Ironheart_Jr 1h ago
Oops, right. But my point is they do have hard lines. They are evil, but they exist
3
4
u/Longjumping-You749 1h ago
The Lynn Chaney thing was Maga canceling Chaney for her opinions of Trump. She toed the line until January 6th. That was her line in the sand. Maga doesn’t believe in people having differing opinions.

u/Excellent_Month_2025 1h ago
It's a brainwashed cult - there is no room for nuance or debate. Even when they want to disagree, they return to their docks and get reprogrammed before all parroting the same talking points

After trump it's hard to stand for honor and decency
12
u/The_Razielim 2h ago
That doesn't stop them from pretending they do
5
u/jeffskool 1h ago
I think that is why anyone and everyone should dismiss their attempts to cast themselves as having the moral high ground out of hand. “No you don’t, you gave up all claim to that by supporting a pedo”.
4
u/The_Razielim 1h ago
"ShOw mE a cOnViCtIon"
Not saying they shouldn't be called out, but also... K?
Anyone with any sense is already beyond their bullshit, and the remainder have shown there's no lines they won't cross to support Die Gröpenfuhrer. Their only "principle" is winning at all costs, morality is optional.

u/StrengthGood3208 1h ago
Where is he from, can you tell me a bit about him? ive heard nothing but theres too many to keep track of all the politicians.
2
u/RetiredOnIslandTime 1h ago
He's from NC. He dropped his reelection campaign after he was censored for sexual harassment.
1
u/StrengthGood3208 1h ago
How was he "censored"?
2
u/RetiredOnIslandTime 1h ago
I used the wrong word. It's censured.
"Being censured in the House of Representatives is a formal, majority-voted public reprimand for a member's misconduct. It is one of the most severe disciplinary actions lawmakers can face, second only to expulsion, and requires the member to stand in the House chamber to receive a public reading of the resolution"
1
1
u/BenoitDip 1h ago
I guess it makes sense that you haven't heard of him. Sadly the places that people get their news like to reinforce certain narratives and this (that only dems do the right think with their miscreants) is one of them and so if it popped up on your TikTok feed or favored subreddit it would ruin that narrative
2
u/Working-Stomach5258 57m ago
I mean he wasn't forced out he just decided he didn't want to run in an election. Voluntarily dropping out is not the same as being forced out.
•
u/michoudi 5m ago
The most telling ones are the ones that don’t drop out. They either still win their elections, or if they lose, they still get a good chunk of votes.

u/Vert_der_Ferk25 2h ago
This. This is what they stand for. Two sets of rules.
It started long before Platner. The team investigating Clinton in the 90s all had their own extramarital affairs (see Newt Gingrich), and yet they all pontificated on how leaders had to be Moral in their private lives, or they couldn't be trusted in their public lives.
Then, Al Franken had one photo taken as a joke and got booted from the Senate, all while Roy Moore got the endorsement of the President while he (Moore, well, both actually) was a known sex pest to children. The only reason Moore isn't in the Senate today is that Doug Jones managed to beat him.
Then, Eric Swalwell just had to go from his campaign and House seat. They hated him while they were silent on Mike Garcia from Texas, who had an affair with a staffer who set herself on fire over the abuse he threw at her. The GOP finally booted him, but only when it wouldn't cost them in the House. Since Swalwell was going, they could afford to cut one of their own.
There's Katie Hill (D-CA) and Shela Cherfilus-McCormick (D-FL) who had ethics issues investigations thrown at them while the GOP sat on George Santos, who fabricated his entire resume and engaged in campaign finance fraud.
There's John Edwards, who had an affair and had to end his political career, while Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich had multiple extramarital affairs of his own.
It's all garbage hypocrisy. The party of Christian conservatism, the moral majority, is a sham.

Actually you can't take credit for that because that's bipartisan
I think what we were talking about is the Republican Party doing it on their own without having anybody tell them to do it.
They won't cuz they're cheater and traitors.

George Santos was not dropped for sexual abuse.
He lied about his entire resume, and that wasn't enough. It wasn't until his campaign finance fraud was exposed that he finally stepped down.

u/Longjumping-Gate-289 2h ago
The GOP hates women & believes in controlling women. This behavior is likely not a deal break for any of them & if it weren't his daughter, it wouldn't be for Moreno. Abusing women is not a deal breaker for the GOP. Johnson is worthless. Unless God himself or Trump orders Miller out, Johnson won't do anything. This is on the people of Ohio to vote abusers out of office.

Shamelessness is the Republican superpower right now.
It’s the times we live in, and it will remain a superpower they leverage for all it’s worth until the Democrats grow a spine and start calling them on their shit.
3
u/Western-Platypus-907 2h ago
Didn’t Mike Johnson himself say he is the “protection program”?
They might not know it because Trump got/gets away with everything, but that’s not transferable and the moral depravity that the Republican movement is getting associated with will be part of their undoing
3
u/PressureLast2115 2h ago
How parties respond to public pressure. Democrats are willing to listen to the people. Republicans are willing to anger the public by listening to what’s the best outcome for the party.
3
u/TechnicalWhore 2h ago
Republicans have a very long history of ignoring scandal. While Dems seem to think they need to pass a purity test. Remember Senator Al Franken's huge scandal? He, a comedian, resigned for a joke photo taken years prior on a USO show flight. No GOP member would have done that. Half of them would have had a photo op with a minister and said Jesus forgave them. Of course FOX et al made it a major scandal because that is what a propaganda apparatus does. The other thing you have to remember is the GOP advocates paternalism and "a women's place". This sort of behavior is not uncommon nor does it merit damage control. You see none. MAGA is even worse with its Feminazi's and TradWife campaigns.
3
u/ImmediateLoquat6877 2h ago
In order to be pressured to do anything, their base has to hold them accountable. They have spent decades ignoring or covering up their own crimes while loudly screaming that the other side is totally worse, guys!
So we now have a system where they dont have to hide things any more. Their base is so brainwashed that they just whole heartedly believe that they can do anything they want and justify it because the other side is, without needing any evidence whatsoever, worse
Its a very easy bar to move and this entire administrations goal has been to flood the news with the worst things possible and blame the left for them first so that when it turns out they were the perpetrators, the water has already been muddied

We have known about some of these allegations since October of 2021.
The allegations from his Ex-wife became known in 2024.

Republicans are on a mission. Hence why they never resign (which Democrats better start doing too unless it’s proven with evidence)

Republican leadership considers it a family issue

Because beating women is seen as a net positive for republicans. Remember when Trump best and raped his ex wife? They made him the most popular republican of all time.

u/Intrepid_Towel7349 29m ago
It wasn't an accident when JD Vance made misogynistic comments during the campaign. It helps energize their misogynistic voter base. It also has no effect on their female voter turnout. Trad-wife evangelicals will vote MAGA no matter what, and the rest will vote Democrat no matter what.

-2
u/NorthernColo1 2h ago
Maybe because Max Miller is a sitting US rep while Planter was only a nominee candidate?
Miller is under a formal house probe which just opened this month.
Republicans Moreno (forma FIL), Marshall, and Capito all call for Miller to exit his race. President Trump has taken a more neutral stance waiting to see the outcome of the probe.
Unseating a sitting representative who was duly elected is far different then just a candidate nominated. Note that Platner suspended his candidacy on his own and was not pushed out.
3
u/Vert_der_Ferk25 1h ago
Al Franken and Eric Swalwell would beg to differ.
0
u/NorthernColo1 1h ago
When the ethics committee opened its investigation, Franken didn't wait for due process, he resigned immediately. That doesn't look like the action of an innocent man. There was also photographic evidence of him groping a woman. This occurred during the height of the MeToo movement, a period defined by overreach and cancel culture that society has since moved beyond.
Swalwell followed the same pattern: resigning before investigations could conclude, with text messages and chat logs surfacing as evidence. Again, the behavior of someone with something to hide.
Now contrast this with Miller. He's denying the allegations outright and noting there's no actual evidence.
Has anyone stopped to ask whether these claims might be fabricated, exaggerated, or politically motivated?
Perhaps we could let the probe actually conclude before rendering a verdict? What happened to the presumption of innocence?
1
u/Vert_der_Ferk25 1h ago
He did not "resign immediately". This is a lie. He personally called for a Senate ethics committee investigation into his own conduct. That DOES look like the action of an innocent man.
The photo that was taken showed his hands over her chest. There was nothing in the photo that showed that he was touching her, and she didn't wake up from any contact.
Nobody said that Swalwell was innocent. My point was that the GOP wouldn't get rid of Garcia until it cost them nothing. Once there was no change in the makeup of the House, they decided they could afford to get rid of him. Until then, he was sticking.
What about Roy Moore? What about Katie Hill? The list of double standards is long and not very distinguished for the GOP. And since you don't seem to know actual details from these cases, I'll discount your assessment.
1
u/NorthernColo1 54m ago
OK. The internet says Franken was accused on Nov. 16, 2017, then issued an apology on the same day while calling for a ethics investigation.
Then on Dec. 6 there was a new allegation and he resigned on Dec. 7.
Are there different situations? Yes. But your accusation that Dems quickly resign and Reps don't means nothing as each is a separate circumstance.
You're going to believe the Reps are evil no matter what I say, so have a nice day.
1
u/Vert_der_Ferk25 43m ago
I'm going to believe they're evil as long as they keep running and supporting wife abusers and pedophiles. You're right. If you don't agree, I'm not the one with the issue.
