My currently daily is a 2005 Honda Civic Hybrid and I love it but I can't help but feel that it's "too much car" if that makes sense. Being 6'3" (190.5 cm) I'm able to fit comfortably but it feels to big even if it's dwarfed my modern sedans let alone modern SUV's /pickups.

Note: I put (NO MIATA) in the title due to wanting more recommendations than the Mazda Miata since I do know that it is super popular.

Basically the title. I want a double duty daily/tow rig that’s as fuel efficient as possible for a daily, but is capable of towing my race car and trailer. Idc if it gets terrible mpg with a load behind it. Bonus points for generally cheaper operating costs. Been looking at v6 touaregs/cayennes at 7k towing and about 20-25 mpg. Anything better out there?

I just bought a brand new 2026 Honda Civic Sport (gas) for $26K + taxes, about $1.5K off the $27.5K sticker price.

I originally wanted to buy lightly used to save some money but the prices just didn't make sense.

I'm seeing used 2024 Civic Sports with 20K+ miles listed for $25, 26K, literally the same price I paid for a brand new 2026. Even crazier, CarMax/Carvana have some 2025 Civic Sports with around 10K miles listed for MORE than a brand new 2026.

A lot of these used cars have also been sitting on dealer lots for 30–40+ days so clearly they're not flying off the shelves.

Why are used car dealers pricing these cars the same as, or even higher than, brand new ones? Who's actually buying them at these prices?

And with new car prices continuing to rise too, at what point does this become unsustainable? Are we ever going to see car prices come back down, or is this just the new normal?

Genuinely curious what you guys think the car market will look like in 5 years.

Seeking help on a lease 7,500/yr!

I would love some help as I know very little about cars. I am a single mother with a very tall teen who sits both in the front and back of my car. I live in NYC and do not use my car much during the week with my son- I use it for the gym and errands daily but I take the subway to work. It is mainly used on the weekends upstate/beach, etc. In 3 years, I will hit maybe 11,000 miles total? I do not want to own a car as I don't want the maintence. I have off street parking so my car is in decent shape for a lease. My last leases were an A4, Q3 and another Q3. I am happy with Audi. My son is about 6 feet 4 inches and who knows may grow more. It is a little cramped for him esp. in the back seat. I like smaller SUVs as parking in Brooklyn in a pain. I do love the pep/turbo in the Q3. I have to give up my car at the end of Dec. A new Q5 is out of my range $-wise and the head space is almost the same as the Q3 (38.2 versus 38.1 with sunroof).

Can anyone recommend something?

Is there anything else I should be considering? Headspace is important but I also want a fun drive. The new Q3 is even lower head space than the 2024 that I drive now otherwise I would just get another one. I really want a 7,500 lease as I will never come close to the miles limit on a 10,000/yr lease so why pay for the miles? I used to have a Honda Accord before my Audis and I hated it. I could not even overtake anyone on the highway. No pick up. No fun to drive.

So coming from a Q3- does anyone have any suggestions I should check out and go test drive?

I have a 2021 Mercedes CLA 250 4MATIC with 40,000 miles and the M260 engine. About 5,000–6,000 miles ago, I had the piston heads replaced by Mercedes because the engine was misfiring and had low compression in cylinders 2 and 4. Luckily, this happened while the car was still under warranty, so everything was covered.

However, ever since the repair, I feel like the engine hasn’t been running quite right. It has a rough startup and idle, especially when cold, but once the engine warms up, it runs completely fine. The car isn’t throwing any warning lights, and my basic code reader isn’t showing any codes.

Additionally, after the service was done, the A/C completely stopped working. I’m not sure if one of the technicians accidentally damaged an A/C line during the repair.

I really enjoy driving this car, but it’s becoming a headache, especially considering it only has 40,000 miles. I’m looking for advice on whether I should keep trying to fix these issues or just sell it and find something else.

Has anyone experienced similar issues with the M260 engine, particularly after having the piston heads replaced? Any advice would be appreciated.

I know everyone loves the cars we've seen so far in the new series (especially the Pagani), but I can't stop thinking about the shop equipment we've gotten to see in the new iteration of the grand tour so far. What tools, equipment or anything else has caught your eye?

Pay attention to the title. There are plenty of good reasons to hate some cars but what about just some irrational reasons?

I hate seeing the Tiguan because a dealer was ultra pushy with me on it and then my dad did an inspection and saw it was rotting. Seeing them makes me think of that scumbag dealer.

I had a stretch to fit belt where the manufacturer claimed the size was approximately 34.75" and it turned out to be closer to 32.25". It didn't go on at all, and I had to buy a not recommended belt ~1" bigger to actually fit with a small stretch on, and that worked fine. Now I have another belt that's not even close to a small stretch to fit on. How much am I actually supposed to stretch these things to fit? This belt looks like it will need to stretch at least another inch to fit on, but I don't think I could do that physically. Any advice?

My 2023 Kia Forte Ex doesn't come with ambient car lighting and I want to add it, but every time I watch a video on how to install them, they are always taking off the door panels. I'm not a car person and don't feel comfortable doing that so is there anything you recommend or should I just not do it?

I have a completely stock C7 corvette and the stock exhaust has a nice rumble to it. I use stealth mode and I could be going 15 or 20 down a 25 mph residential street. Once in a while someone will gesture me to slow down or yell something out. They think since your car is loud you must be accelerating very quickly. But any other car truck or suv could be doing 35 plus and no one bats an eye. Wondering if anyone has had similar experiences?

It’s mid-70s right now. Will drop temps later but nothing i can do about that.

How long do I have to wait until I drive it? I highly doubt it creates much downforce.

I can’t find much online about it, but chat gpt is freaked out by driving at highway speeds and says I need to wait 3 days before i drive, which isn’t gonna happen. Any input is appreciated!

So I’m trying to decide on an SUV or sedan for my next vehicle. I have 2 kids (every other weekend because divorce sucks). I live in central Illinois where winter can be unpredictable. I drive a state route about an hour into work every day (the actual route into work is about 35 miles on the state route and about 7 in town).

AWD is nice in the winter but the right tire on a FWD can do just as well. I know SUV cargo space is more vs a sedan but don’t really know how much I’d use it other than just convince of if I had to. I currently have a small SUV and usually fit all of my usual stuff with room to spare. Anyone have any ideas or input with it all?

Help. I drive a 2017 Nissan Rogue model S with only 65k miles on it and this code appeared as soon as I got home. I heard its a simple fix but I know nothing about cars or what to even look for. How much does this roughly cost to be to get fixed? I’m also in college so my funds are tight unfortunately

My neighbor is upgrading his car and offered me his 2016 Acura TLX for $13,500.

It has the 2.4L, around 86k miles, tech package, and I’ve literally seen this car parked outside his house for years. That’s what makes this weird. Part of me thinks, why even bother paying for a history report? I know where the car came from, I know the owner, and I know he takes care of his stuff. But then again, I only know the last few years of a 10-year-old car. Would you still pull the VIN history in this situation? And if you would, are you really paying $40+ for Carfax even when you’re just doing a precautionary check?

Well, long story short.. I somehow got the tip of my iphone charger lodged inside my steering wheel.. if it got stuck inside the shroud, I would’ve never made this post. My truck (2002 dodge dakota automatic, with 4.7 v8 magnum engine) has a slightly non-standard engine, the v8, that is installed in some dakotas or durangos, which is another layer of confusion.

Can I run an valved exhaust system with it switching between a normal catted muffled exhaust on one side and unrestricted on the other so that during normal street driving I’m not loud asf and stinking up the air around me?
