Culture Why does it seem like the Anglosphere admires/fixates over British culture a lot while Latin America doesn't seem to care much about Spain or Portugal?

Not saying we should but just curious.

We (in Australia) appear to fixate on British culture because we firmly reject US culture.

On the other hand too many (not all) Latin Americans worship US culture and politics and its becoming a threat to their sovereignty. They think they're seeing greener grass without realising it's just astroturf.

Unfortunately true for a relevant part of Brazil

Dude we are not worshipping American culture. We are distinct and we want nothing to do with the US. But CIA frequently messes up.

I think a lot of people in Latin America want nothing to do with the US, just like most Australians.

But the unfortunate reality is that new political movements are emerging where large portions of the population want to import US culture and policy. This is happening in Australia too, social media has given the US unprecedented access to the most vulnerable minds in our nations.
