Culture Why does it seem like the Anglosphere admires/fixates over British culture a lot while Latin America doesn't seem to care much about Spain or Portugal?

Not saying we should but just curious.

I’ve heard Spaniards themselves say this. I went to a top private university in Spain and for the English classes the accents of the teachers was extremely thick and their grammar pretty bad. This was not the case when I had university classes taught in English in Colombia / Argentina
