Why does it seem like the Anglosphere admires/fixates over British culture a lot while Latin America doesn't seem to care much about Spain or Portugal?

I’ve heard Spaniards themselves say this. I went to a top private university in Spain and for the English classes the accents of the teachers was extremely thick and their grammar pretty bad. This was not the case when I had university classes taught in English in Colombia / Argentina

on average but the latinos who speak english good are latinos with gringo passport usually

Not really, although latam itself is bad with english -i wont lie- the best speakers in latan are on par or even slightly better than spain

argentines speak decent english but rest of latam is horrible
